Seventh Column Contests

his new site or group?????? haha lol both of them are in need of some members.

I'll be on my own side.

his new site, Bungie Fans Online(BFO).

Of course, it should be regulated as to who is allowed in. Only trusted Bungie fans. May seem elitist, but if its any other way it will just be like the rest of B.net, with the community all disorganized.

I love stosh's idea, and I like the part about making a chapter, and urging the memebrs to put a chapter spotlight into there signatures. The titles might get a bit annoying though for the mods.

I'm afraid that things will be a bit disorganised with Vella's idea, however, if we combine his idea with the original one, and on a seperate 7th column webpage, things get interesting, alot.

The council was acctually brought up by goweb in this thread about say....885 post back.

Alot of thought needs to go into this. I would not like the job to fall into the hands of unqualified users. I think this whole threads 'matter' would be better placed within the Stickied 7th Cloumn thread.

Uh huh. But that's not really what I was talking about at all. I'm saying we can achieve the same effect without actual councillors, with minimal effort on the Bungie.net web team's part.

Not that much official work needs to go into it. Kind of like how CFounders still works without being constantly monitored by Sketch. There needs to be atleast a group, a couple forum ninjas who agree to help out with it, and a slight tweak to the forum database.

I like both ideas. The homepage should however be on a bungie.net. So it is under the care of bungie. This way any site improvments or problem come up, bungie can take care of it.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Yes plz bring it back, im begging you.

Go to teh stickyd thread about this,

That's not a bad idea. But anywho. I would like to be on the council. No matter what becomes of it. I'm not right now, but that could change.

Yeah, but I don't think you understand. There's no need for councillors, and the most they would do is help out with the column group. It's an open group, so anyone can join, and get the same benefit(s) as everyone else.

Oh no. I know what you mean. I just misrepresented what I was trying to say. Basically, if your plan goes through, I would like to help run the group. If I can't help run it, I will definitely just be in it. And, if it doesn't change, I would still like to help.

Someone mentioned that it could only consist of trusted bnet members. But that would suck. I'm new to the community, so few no about me. But, I wouldn't try to ruin the column or anything. If regular members can't be let in, that would really really suck.

I think thats a great idea Vella, It would help make the community more active by offering a incentive, but at the same time, the incentive couldn't be abused.

Ultimately though, I think it would be up to Archronos if he wanted to code something like that into site.

I think instead of a group we should bug bungie to make us a Seventh Column homepage. Sort of like the current bungie.net page. We could have news about groups and their activities. It would be nice if we had a seventh column forum, polls and event calendar too.

I think a site dedicated to the seventh column would bring the community together and probably boost group activity.

Well after Josher pointed me to this thread and someone suggested the use of BFO for the Idea I got to thinking. (I own BFO not psyched, he’s my top guy though) This does seem like a damn good idea. I am always willing to help out the 7th Column, and would be here. First I'm going to need to discuss a few things with you and Chris, bandwidth and storage wise, then I'll need to discuss it with everyone one who will be involved, to work out how things will be done and such. Everything for this site comes straight out of my pocket you see, I'm not just going to hand over the keys to it. I think we should all meet on the IRC Channels and hammer out all the details and such. Post your thoughts.

When he said "site" he really meant a section of Bungie.net, al la old hotness, with community news and updated spotlights, etc.

I would rather have it on bungie, net like the old days then BFO. No offence to snowman, its just the 7th column should stay on bungie.

in your first post you state that the council is not the right way to go. You could have brought that up in the post deticated to ALL council discussion. I stand by my point.

Edit: Your title also reads "Should we revised the proposed council?"
