I recently heard that a friend of mine and a friend of theirs' Halo 3 Multiplayer disc has cracked and was rendered useless. Then it happened to my cousin soon after.

Well, now it has happened to me. I only purchased this (brand new) in April 2010. Fortunately, the disc is only cracked on the inner rings and is still currently playable. I've opted to install the disc to my HDD and even played several matches last night with no problem (matches started up quickly).

Is this a common thing with this disc specifically or is it just probably coincidence that I've known this to happen to a few others I know of? And if the disc does eventually break, does Microsoft do replacements?

If you just bought it shouldn't you have a 60 day warranty on it?

Yeah, you could've just got a new one... except I thought it was a 90 day warranty?

Debates are like jaw breakers; you eat away at one layer, only to find another lying beneath. Also, they cause people to choke up and die sometimes. True story.

MIne did that as well, on the inner ring.

Unfortunately, I didn't install it, and the crack has just barely made it to the inside of the readable part of the disc. So, the maps don't load sometimes...which is a fail. :(

it seems too common, in my opinion, how it cracks from the inside and all. I mean, I never did anything with my disc to make it crack!

I don't know if it's my mind playing tricks on me, but the disc seems flimsier than the actual campaign disc. Ah, well.

Crap, I just remembered it wasn't April, but late March. I'm gonna say March 20th was the earliest. That would fit within a 90 day warranty. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks.
