Theres a clan in Halo PC called "People Against Teamkillers" and I was thinking yeah, thats a good idea, theres nothing I hate more than teamkillers. But then...I realized there is one thing that I do hate more than teamkillers: Teamswitchers. Everybody knows them, maybe even is one. But when they join a server on the side of a desparatley losing team, or even a team that is only losing by a little, they go to the winning side, just so they can have the satisfaction of being on the winning team (even though they usually do little to aid their victory) These have got to be like 10-12 year old because there is no way that I can imagine someone 13 or above having such a poor grip on life that they have to go crash balances servers to make them feel good. Apparantly the winning team gives them pen1s envy because they can't handle a loss now and then. Little selfish bastards....

What if you're like me and you switch to the losing team?

I switch teams all the time. but, keep in mind, I also try to play games that have auto balance on. I switch teams because my team refuses to work AS a team, or because they are a group of weapon hogging jerks who will just as likely TK you for goodies as get themselves killed after they TK you...and give the goody to the opposition.

But nineteen times out of twenty, I switch teams because the opposition has fewer people. I switch to keep the game fair, as everyone should if they decide to switch teams.

yeah. I know the type you're talking about. I'm also usually glad to be rid of them if my team is losing. Most of the time, such people aren't worth the effort to gripe at. and as they see their stats go down, they leave quickly, no matter what team they're own.

I've been so out matched (in a non-autbalanced game) as to have a 4 on 1 difference beteween players, and been happy for it. Like you said, the people (mostly kids, i agree) who do this don't know better. But that's not all they don't know:

they don't know that teamkilling is on and when they throw that helpful nade at me, they're slaughtering the fellow with the shotgun that i'm dancing around (along with his friend). They don't know how to drive, so they have a naughty tendency to hop into a hog and straight line right into the path of...my, who put that nade in the road?

And they have a nasty habit of never supporting their teammates when they need it.

So, while teamswitchers can give the opposition a numerical advantage, i don't worry about them too much...most of the time.

Nobody understands "there is no I in Team" on the bungie-ctf servers. The most teamwork i've seen is reporting the banshee headed for the base. Other than that, they're lone wolves. I have experienced teamkillers that would switch to get the flag back or tk the other team.
