So, I have Halo 2, and my PC screen but I can only split screen Vertically. I don't have access to a T.V, so is there any other way I can get the update that let's me get it horizontally.

Set your TV settings in the Dashboard (Original or 360, doesn't matter) to 4:3/non-widescreen.

Are you saying you have Halo PC? Or are you playing an xbox through your PC screen?

Xbox through PC screen, and I don't have a T.V

Then change it through the dash; System Settings/Console Settings/Display/Screen Format/Normal.

Ok, I'll give it a try.

nope, it still wont let me apply the update because I'm still using my VGA cable which doesn't support the native PAL-50 setting it reverts to when it updates.

I don't know what update you are talking about, as far as how the screen is split. I use my comp screen too and I just change the split of the screen like I described so idk.

PAL may make a difference. I also hang out at another website but half the members have PAL. It's called Highimpacthalo and there's a section in there called 'Technical Support'. The people that answer that section are smart so maybe go there and ask. They know all about PAL.

Edit: I just realized you said xbox (not 360) so if you have an original box go to; Settings/Video and choose between Normal, Letterbox or Wide Screen.

It might also depend on your monitor settings so you should look at those. There should be a menu for setting 'aspect ratio' and resolution (on the monitor itself).

No no, it's on the 360, but it's vertically split and not horizontally. I thought the update would let me choose. How can I change how the screen is split?

Well, I told you the only way I know, through the 360 dash or the monitor menu. There's no update for this.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

You could always call ms tech support, or check out the xbox.com forums to help you with your problem. That's what I do at least when I run into a problem with my 360. You might find what you need there.
