Yeah, I remember reading that in the GI magazine. I wonder if it has anything to do with what Frankie talked about in the Feb. 13 Weekly Update: Bill O'Brien is in tunnel-vision mode, animating a new type of Covenant soldier. Can't tell you much more about what kind of Covenant it is, but you know it's alien and you know it's bad. This guy has actually been partially-complete for a long time in design and AI respects, but now Bill's challenge is to get his transitional animations, when he stops, slows down or changes direction suddenly.

I know the said beast in said article is brand new (not a brute), but what I'm saying is that elites, hunters and brutes especially should be able to flip warthogs too. The MC can do it (even a tank which is somewhat ridiculous) so why couldn't Covenant of equal strength be able to flip vehicles like him? Heck, I think a brute should be able to tear the MC's arm off and beat him to death with it.

The MC is a cyborg, he has super human strength so he can flip tanks and stuff, in fact i find it hard to believe with strength like that why, with a melee attak, he doesn't just knock an elite's head off. But i agree i think there should be covenant stronger than MC.

Frankie did mention that there was a new character that they can't speak about yet in the Weekly Update. Maybe this new Warthog-flipping creature is what they were talking about in the Game Informer article.

also, this is a new character (creature), not an old one

Yes I know

i was replying to what the other person said about it being a hunter

Well the chief can flip a turned over hog easily enough, and the elites are supposedly just as strong as a Spartan (according to E.Nylund). With that in mind, it would seem like elites would be capable of flipping a hog over; a brute should be especially capable of tossing vehicles because of their massive strength. Heck, it would be awesome to drive a hog towards a brute and see him dig in his feet and hold it back. Then he'd probably flip it and slaughter the poor marines who were inside.

they mention the brute in the article, this is not a brute or an elite, whatever this creature is, is something we have never seen before

If this covenant is the same as the one in the up-date...Buddman has been working on another top-secret character while taking some time out to calm the Jackal…quiet and collected, Mike Budd trudges through the toughest characters to make them awesome. I wish we could say more about his secret character, since it will rock harder than a quarry when you see it in-game...then they will most likely show it in E3 considering that they want to show that they are "the best"... lets hope they do...

In GI, they never said that the "Beast" was Huge and Massive. They said it was strong and had enough strenth to flip over vehicles (it also never said in the articles that the creature could stop a "moving" vehicle. I don't know where u guys got that -blam!- from. Hell, the creature could b just the size as the MC, and have the strength to flip over a warthog. I'd like to see a better counterpart to the Spartan. (I mean like an Elite or something with enhanced armor and weaponry, after stealing technology from some of the Mjolnir armors to make a better covie soldier.)

another thing... why do you guys think that the Brutes are the "secret character?" first of all, if it was the character, some secret Bungie had. And, (some one already pointed this out but I'll say again) the brute is confirmed, the other new char is not. So, that definitely means that the Brute and the Secret char are different !

Okay then first things first.

Bungie did make mention of this kick ass new Covenant. They want everything they can get into Halo 2, so this sucker should get in. That should make for some interesting events. Now for the next thing.

Who is to say a Hunter can't flip a Warthog? Yes they can do it while the warthog is stationary, but why not when it is flooring it? Funny thing is my father and I were talking about how it could be done on.

What the Hunter could do is hunch down really low and lower its shield. When the Warthog gets close enough ti could lift up on the shield and lift the vehicle sending it onto its side. They are strong enough to do this, so I don't see why not.

That sounds like a great idea, that would make them alot more of a threat, imagine your surprise the first time one of them did it.
