Here, hold this for a minute. I need to go blow something up.

I seem to be having this major problem with my Halo 2 game. My friend had it previously, and it worked perfectly fine on his Xbox 360. It also works fine on another of my friends Xbox 360. When i put it in my xbox, it seems to always be loading first. When i attempt to load a multiplayer map or even the first cutscene or a campaign, i get a message saying, "There is a problem with your disc. it may be dirty or damaged." I have checked the disc many times. it is both clean and undamaged, yet the problem persists. I have not even once been able to load Armory on any difficuly. Please, cn someone tell me what is wrong?

If it works fine on other consoles but not your own, that makes me think that something may be wrong with your xbox, not your disc.

There are some ongoing manufacture issues in mixing together any Halo disc with the Xbox 360 hard drive (see here) which appears to have a lot of causes with a very similar loading effect. Since any original Xbox game requires a hard drive inserted to be read, I'd recommend borrowing one of your friends' HDD and see if it works on your Xbox 360.

If my theory for you is correct, be sure to individually remove some potentially corrupted files under "Halo 2" on your hard drive and take a stab at clearing your system cache. If all else fails, you could also try obtaining a different Halo 2 disc, but if it is an internal system issue, I can't promise you that method would work.

It's all worth a shot.
