A Hapless Elite: because TheUnluckyElite was already taken.

Hey guys,

I'm in a bit of a pickle at the moment. I'm trading in my old 360 unit for one of the new "S" models when they are released on Friday (I'm in the UK). I was busy transferring all my game saves, maps, etc. to a USB memory stick a short while ago when I reached my Halo 2 saves.

The problem is that, when trying to transfer the Halo 2 content (most importantly, the maps) the Xbox 360 did not give the option to move or copy; only delete.

So here's my question: is it possible to transfer the Halo 2 maps from one 360 to another?

You could purchase the Halo 2: Multiplayer Map Pack disk. -CM

NOTE: I am not selling you this item for I shall not and will not break the rules intentionally. I am merely stating alternatives for you to consider.

The disc won't contain Desolation or Tombstone though. The day before service was cancelled I tried to play a game online but I would only get errors that the maps were corrupted. Everytime I tried to redownload the same thing happened. The odd thing is I've played on those maps before online and never had a problem until they decide to drop support.

Honestly at one point all the maps were free so any means he has to go through to reacquire them are reasonable more or less. I would like to get my issue resolved and all the talk of not being able to copy the maps from a flash drive or what have you is silly. Worst case scenario I think would be to use Xplorer or whatever its called and add the files through that. I requires disassembly of your hd enclosure though.

The best case scenario is for M$ to put the maps on the marketplace for free. They won't since it isn't profitable for them (they were still charging 5 usd for Battlefront 2 maps the day before service was cut). I'm not familar with the finer details but placing all orginal xbox game downloads in the 360 marketplace shouldn't be difficult since they just have to be saved to the original xbox data partition.

Well, you can do it with a transfer kit from MS. That's one 360 and 2 HDD's. I've heard there's a way to just transfer data from one 360 to another but you don't seem to be getting answers here. I thought someone would know how to transfer 360 data.

E4web

This is what you need. It's been around as long as the 360 and is not illegal.

The only thing you may have trouble with is any DRM protection, as you can't redownload the licence for the maps, although I somewhat doubt that the Original XBox had such capabilities.

Would the transfer cable work when theres no option to move?

if the hardrive on your old xbox360 is fine then you can just send it to microsoft and they transfer your entire hardrive onto another (of course you have to pay for the other drive and the servise so its $$expensive$$)

I'm positive the cable just makes an exact copy of one harddrive to another so it should work. The sata hd dock and xplorer should work fine though.

Oh hey! This just crossed my mind when I was swimming today, but maybe when you trade your Xbox in, you can ask the guy if he could do you a service and have the employees at the gamestop transfer the data for you? (Assuming that it is a gamestop)

Anyways just a though,
