Seriously Does anybody even like it? Cuz I don't, I love it!
It's a great game, if I didn't know any better I would've thought this game had more than a year of development time.
The fact that I was back on Earth was awesome,VISR mode was awesome, firefight was awesome, the characters, awesome, the story was awesome and one of my favorite parts, Playing as an ODST! When I first saw these bad muthas on Halo2, I was all like "BAD, ASS!" and I actually wanted to play as them, they made the SMG look good, and every chance I got I would replace marines with ODST. A marine get's in my warthog, I get out, kill him and get an ODST replacement.

And remember:Haters gonna hate.

Keepin' my ammo dry and my eyes on the target.

I really liked ODST because Im not a big fan of being some huge supersoldier (I still love to play Halo3 though) I just enjoyed being a normal soldier. If you think about it ODST are kinda like the futuristc version of an Airborne Ranger. WOO! GO AIRBORNE!!!

Moo

I thought for its time, it was not great. It was ok, but it gets old. When Halo 3 Appeared, it was something no one has ever seen before, and being one of the most visually stunning for the xbox At the time, among being one of the most functional with custom games and forge. ODST was more of an overpriced map pack sided with a short campaign. I have gotten the majority of Achievements and finished legendary within roughly 13 hours of game play. Its Graphics were good, but it just was a little over par for what was also out at the time, but brought nothing else to the table. i would of been more content with this game if it sold for 30-40 USD new on release. or was a Halo 3 Addon. I do not want 3 disks to swap every now and then. The Customize able features in fire fight for Halo Reach should of been in halo ODST, that would be a game changer, i mean, Gears of war 2 did it (made horde Customize able) And Custom Content is why Older Games are still around, Such as Warcraft 3. And for the people to say adding the custom Firefight in ODST will take from it being in reach, reach completely takes everything up a level, Halo: Reach is a game, Halo: ODST is an addon (Or should of been)... But hay, i'm just ranting, don't take all of this the wrong way. i just want my option heard.

ODST was a fantastic game, regardless of price or content. What happened to the days when we judged a game not on its length or price but on how it makes the player feel? ODST ticked all the boxes, i played Halo a completely differently to any other Halo game, it was nowhere near as corny as the original series, there was a sense of desperation, it, to me, was a far better game than Halo 3 as a whole.

One thing; Halo 3 visually stunning? Pardon? Halo 3 has never been visually "stunning" and you are deluding yourself if you truly think so.

only eat one small snack a week to save money on food and just have water toilet and lights to save money thats my plan

Though the Earth is dying we must enrich her body, for the ground we tread is hφly.

ODST is my favorite Halo single player. So yeah, I liked it.

Campaign wise: ODST > CE > 3 > 2

It seethes emotion and atmosphere.

I loved it to but I think the only problems people had with it was the Campaign was too short, no matchmaking and not a whole lot of customization

  • 07.16.2010 9:02 PM PDT

I love it! they finally made a halo sandbox game.(with fire fight)

Don't forget the music! It is beyond words how epic it is.

Between the story, music, atmosphere, and introduction to Firefight, as well as many likeable charecters, I think ODST goes above and beyond the call of duty for a simple add-on title for Halo 3. Me personally, would even go as far as saying it had a better OST and more likeable charecters than Halo 3 itself, but that's just my opinion. Also, Firefight was a much needed and refreshing edition to the Halo franchise, and i'm happy to see it being developed even further in Reach.

It may seam like I'm bumping... I'm not... I just don't check forums that often...

I agree with alot of what you are saying, but Halo 3 did have a great OST, there were more likable characters in ODST but it would've been better if you actually got to play along-side Johnson (besides firefight) instead of only seeing him in a cut-scene.Firefight 2.0 in reach is going to be sweet! On that note: did you know that there were many threads begging for what essentially is firefight since halo 2?
(Not so sure if it was 2 or 3 or even 1 although it did mention blood gulch which leans toward halo 1 or 2...)
edit:Just now noticed the 3 hour difference between my time and when it says I post...I'm checking back fairly often.

Unlike many people on these forums, my campaign list goes like this:

ODST = H3 > CE > H2

And can someone tell me why they like Assault on the Control Room so much? Because I don't like it.

It wasn't a sandbox game, it kinda had some sandbox elements like the giant open map (Mombasa streets) but to me it was more like Sonic Adventure's adventure stages with enemies...and guns...and cars!

I can't tell ya' I don't even remember the level but I do remember the library, delta halo?, *shivers* silent cartographer, truth an reconciliation? and the first mission with the flood and of course the very first mission.

Edit: I actually did remember them all (but not th level's names)except "KEYES" I did not remember anything about this level until I checked halopedia.
and assault on the control room wasnt that great, but it did have every type of combat built in seamlessly. I don't love it but I do like it.

the question mark means that I'm not sure about the name.

ODST is fun when you are with some people you know play well, on a friday or saturday night, and with a pizza and some soda with energy drinks and go for hours and hours on firefight. =)

I did something like that before, but I only knew one of them and there was no food or drinks...but we played for at least two hours straight and got to 1.3 million points or so. (It was awesome!)

*Boom*...Head Shot !

I love the game especialy when you play as the rookie at night.

And for all the haters, its an expantion, it wasn't ment to be as epic as the others rather it was to keep the epicness going till Bungie takes over the world through there 7 step process of world domination.

In my opinion i say stop your -blam!-in and get over it, its a game. you can return it. its not like you lost your verginity to it, you will get back everything you lost because of the game.
