I have heard countless people talk about the Halo books, but have never read them myself. Can anyone who has read the books tell me if they are worth reading? Would you recommend them? I assume you can pick them up at any bookstore?

Yes, Yes, and Yes/No.

some bookstores don't carry them, just order them online if you don't live near a book store that has them.

Excellent books. Erik Nylund is awesome. I didn't like "The Flood" as much as the others, though, because the other guy isn't as good as Nylund. Read them in this order: The Fall of Reach, The Flood, First Strike.

Don't even get what? ((p.s. if you look back on FS, the whole plot is EXTREAMLY short:

MC finds Pelican
MC jacks Covenant Ship
MC saves other Spartans
MC blasts hell outta stuff
Cortana complains alot
END

2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

The books really expand on the whole haloverse. Definitely a must read.

Halo video game=no real plot. The game doesn't really rexplain anything that's going on other than you're stuck on halo, and all the aliens want to kill you. The books are good to read if you actually want to know what's going on.

You read them in this order cause then it follows the story line. The Fall of Reach is everything before the the first game, The Flood is the story that follows the game, and last but not least is First Strike which leads you into Halo 2. So yes it would be a good idea to read them in this order.
