what you say about the second game will probably be what decides wether there will or won't be a 3rd game...
If, IF, this game would flopp it's own ass off there probably won't even be a new Halo... but if it's a great success which it will be (no doubt about that), there most likely WILL be a 3rd Halo.
Hope you guys understand what i mean, 'cause i don't... im a bit tired =P

And about which console it'll play at... hm... depends on how long it takes to make, i think.
How long did it take between Halo and Halo 2 release? 'bout 2½? Well if halo 3 is gonna release the year 2007, it seems they'll release it for the next Xbox to me.. sex-box, ybox or whatever it will be called....

It's really amazing how the people at the beginning of the thread have to put a space in the link.

HAHAHA you guys think this is accurate? Its not. It comes straight from microsoft yet its wrong. See me, master cheif 6 am a reader. That means i read everything. including the bungie history (and if you dont beleive me go to the last paragraph of the history) it says:

October last year, an erroneous release from Microsoft supremo Steve Ballmer caught a few Bungie employees off-guard. Mr. Ballmer's statement to the press (on a completely unrelated matter) contained the following shocker, " we're working on the next version of Xbox right now and we're working on Halo 2 and Halo 3, the two newest versions of the game." Halo 3? What the...! Anyway, turns out it was a mistake, nobody had to go quickly program anything, and work continued on Halo 2.

Thought it would help!

he is -blam!-en right, here is the paragraph

"We'll show you a capability inside the Office System today that delivers on what we call Information Rights Management. We're working on the next version -- I hate to tell you this confidentially but I'll have to swear you to secrecy now -- we're working on the next version of Xbox right now and we're working on Halo 2 and Halo 3, the two newest versions of the game."

that is it

I don't see how continuing the story is possible -- introducing a new threat to the MC and Earth would be difficult at their current position. We're all sure that in H2 Earth gets the good glory beaten out of it, and all the colonies are destroyed as well. Earth is not in a postition to continue another war.

Bungie also claimed that this will "finish up the Halo story" and "you'll definately be bringing the fight to the Covenant".
