Golly, a whole whiteboard full of ideas. I'm assuming those have been copied elsewhere because anyone could come along and wipe away all those ideas.

I bet that happened more than once during the making of Halo 2 ;-)

.

So that explains the cliffhanger ending!

Please post general Halo 2 discussion in the New Mombasa forum. The Septagon is for discussions relevant to the Bungie.net community, the 7th Column, and the website itself.

I'll be on my own side.

Would HTML sigs cause issues with the site Reiginko?

You guys are thinking about the karma system the wrong way. The idea is to give positive reinforcement to good contributions to the community. Very little of it will be based on human interaction. While it may tie into a post rating system, that's not necessarily how it would work. And if it is, then the amount post feedback could affect your rating would be small.

RvB or slashdot's system is not really appropriate for this place. We're rating users, not posts. We're trying to make your own account more valuable. Stopping spammers isn't really a priority of that system... that will be dealt with in the next update, when we add a 1 post a minute (1 topic every 3 minutes) and an overall limit of 7 topics in the public forums in a 24 hour period. A "karma" system is significantly farther away.

Ahhh... My life is doomed... One post every minute.... What am I going to do with the 50 or so seconds between the next post!!!!

Not to mention, I can't wait for many changes that will happen to Bungie.net over the coming year.

Me too. it makes me want to stay even longer.

I have a very real problem with the one post per minute thing...
often times, I'll prepare all my replies in seperate tabs, then cycle through each and submit.

I'll be on my own side.

why would you do that?

I had nothing to do with it, honest! They're the ones you want, not me!

Sorry, but... tough. Blame the spammers.

The system is online now. Everyone (except us and moderators) have a 7 topic a day limit in the public forums, and can only post 1 reply every minute, or 1 topic every 3 minutes.

I also noticed the old thread icon Achronos. Am I to assume that these threads cannot be bumped?

I suppose that means I'm obligated to post "lukewarm", or something. (I was wondering what that brown Webmaster logo was...)

Is there a reason why old threads aren't deleted? I realize that their is some archieve value... but not a lot. If they don't affect performance I suppose there is no reason to delete them.

We're building a "knowledgbase".... Only that name doesn't accurately describe what it would be.

It's a list of who gets loaded into the slingshot first, isn't it?

Here's an idea for an easter egg in a future game: You enter an ancient library. Old compters, covered in dust, are flickering around you. You take a closer look... It's a "Feb 9th" thread.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

That is very good Achronos. Especially since you are still able to edit your old posts, but are not able to reply to other people's posts. Not that I would change what they say, that would be dishonest. Once the search rolls around though, I'm going to be go and edit in an apology/excuse/amusing comment for some of the posts that I made, and I'm sure other people will as well.

Recon,

With your quips, you'd need to tell the kids to look up - you know, where the joke often goes for them!

I hope they wont delete old post's without giving us a warning. I have my own Achieve post of Bungie Fan-Fics/Pictures, and thats the only way for me to know where they are and to let other people see them....*cough*

What's the point of HTML sigs? It would have to be restricted anyway, and the end result would be the exact same as BBCode. Hence, the making of BBCode in the very first place.

Besides, I'd say 90% of these uncultured brutes don't know any HTML whatsoever.

j/k. I think the autolock is the best possible soloution.
No more necromancers, whilst keeping threads around for reference.

Agreed. I am also pleased about the limits on this system. It will hopefully mean better quality posts.
