Do you guys think the seeking rockets are unfair? I'm sure it has probably been discussed before, but I never saw a post and want to see if everyones opinion changed or not. I think they are unfair, the thrill of timing your rocket shot on a speeding warthog going across your view on BG with the flag will be gone. Some people say to me "Well they still have to lock on," It's not too hard to keep your cursor on a moving vehicle for a second or two. If you think that bungie will balance it out, how do you think they can do that? Thanks

It may seem unfair by what we have seen, but trust me, Bungie has it all balanced out.

the rockets only seek vehicles and seems to do just as much damage as it did in halo 1. and all the other weapons also go increased firepower or usefulness so i think it is already balanced how it is. i did not play the multiplayer halo2 demo so i could very easily be wrong though.

It's fair, very fair. With all the new vehicles in Halo 2 there had to be a way to balance it out for the good players vs. the vehicle whores.. and the RL seeking does just that so it's a great thing. Just like boarding a vehicle, no flags in vehicles, and destructible vehicles are great.. it weakens vehicles which is exactly what is needed.

January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

This time if your Warthog gets hit with a vehicle, you will not die. You can flip the Warthog but then you are going to have to use skill and kill them with some other weapon or a well timed rocket shot (non-seeking on the foot soldier).

No flags in vehicles? aww....

I guess you are right, now a human can stand a chance with any weapon against a vehicle, target the wheels or track it so the vehicle whores dont run everyone down n stuff, more vehicles in maps too. soooo its for the best, to make it fair

It's extremely fair, especially since the Banshee has a new barrel roll. Without the seeking individuals with the Banshee or its human counterpart would simply have the run of the place.

The rocket's power has been greatly downsized (about 50% as comented by the Mt. Dew winners). Plus, you can only track vehicles. They are not always direct hits, either.

Also, you can only be a passanger with the flag. No weapons and you run slower. Press and hold X to get flag...

------YOU CAN'T TAKE A GIRL TO THE LIBRARY!------

to me it seems it would take longer to track a warthog, get the lock on, and fire as opposed to just taking a guess and firing at the position you think it will be at.

do you think you could melee with the flag if your not allowed in veichles and run slower to sort of balance the gameplay out a bit?

Yeah it's more fun to try and lead a hog with a rocket than track it, I would think. However, it didnt seem to take more than a second to lock onto a hog in the MP demo, and at longer distances I'm sure the lock wont be as effective cause the rocket doesnt turn quickly

You can be a passenger in a vehicle when you have the flag, making the warthog that much more important. Also, in the demo the Mt. Dew winners played, you ran about 2/3 normal speed when you had the flag. They were surprised by it and found that the fastest way to get away was jump and throw the flag and run and pick it up, etc.

I've read that the flag 'weight' will be a setting you can change, sounds cool.

Sure, you can melee. But as the MD winners said, you have to be, like toe to toe to melee. Best bet is to run, jump, and throw...

I heard the rockets were weaker, that should balance it out.

Even if the rocket's power are toned down due to the seeking feature, I still think a direct will maul you. If not, it should. It's just logical that way..

But as for the seeking feature I think it's totally fair and rather interesting too. I can't wait to lock onto a ghost being boarded by someone else, pull the trigger and send two people flying. Also, there's a chance that the tracking isn't as cheap as you think. If in your worthog you take a sharp corner, will the rocket hook it as well? Maybe, but not as well I'm sure. Let the stray rocket fly off into an unsuspecting mass. Ahh.. this thread has me dreaming now..
