This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Just curious about this. All the infamous button combos/glitches, whatever you want to call em...how come these were never discovered by any tester?

Even though I thought these combos added a little more skill to the game, most gamers absolutely hated these little button glitches.

If you ran up against a tryhard that could Double Shot effectively, you were absolutely toasted in a BR fight. Strafing and Headshots were not enough when more bullets are flying out of the enemy?s gun.

BxR, BxB, Quick Reload glitch...there were a lot of little tricks you could pull off during a fight that gave you the edge.

I did not mind them, as the Double Shot took me a good while to actually use in a BR fight. It was a part of the game, so you had to learn to play like a nasty man.

If you look at any VoD from the 2006-2007 MLG days, those pros mastered all of these combinations. They were crazy.

Did you think the Button Combos brought more skill to the battle field, or do you think it hurt Halo 2's Multiplayer in the end?

I think with hinsight its obvious they brought an another level of ability to the game i personally couldnt BXR ect for toffee but that didnt stop me from trying!.

On the question of how these combos got past the chained up monkeys AKA testers, my only idea would be that, like the super bounces, they did find them late in development and just pretended they werent there and hope they wouldnt be found, because basically they couldnt be removed.

Although there were other numerous game winning glitches which were detected and patched which we can only thank bungie for seeing as theses would have killed the game in its tracks.

R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

I didn't mind them, I actualy became pretty good at double shotting but didn't use it much in matchmaking. And I don't see why people complain about them, If you mess up a BXR or Double Shot you are screwed because it takes a few seconds to recover from a mess up. So it does take a lot of skill.

Well, when button glitches became common knowledge, Bungie could not fix them. So maybe the testers did find them but Bungie realized it would delay the release date. I think a lot of flaws were discovered before release but MS had to have their way.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

That is a very good question they are pretty obvious.

Halo 2 for Life!

They intentionally put them in, if they were true glitches they wouldn't be so polished and they would ruin the game the chances of so many glitches working so well is about zero.

If they didn't want you to get out of the map their wouldn't have been an exterior to explore.
