What if Bungie and Microsoft remade Halo 2 for Xbox 360, Would anyone buy it?

  • 07.19.2010 8:31 AM PDT

YES. YES. YES.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

No. It is perfect the way it is. Whenever a game company tries to remake a game with improved graphics it usually flops.

Yes. I would love it if they brought Halo 2 to the marketplace. that would be great. 4 player legendary co-op? :D and map packs still free? Com' on Bungie. I'd cough up 20$ for halo 2 again. It would revive the Halo 2 fanbase and servers if it came to 360 and everyone knows it.

Halo 2 Vista is the best example.

PouLiN

what i think they should do is make a marketplace download for multiplayer only, kinda like the small battlefield game, if they put it on the marketplace for matchmaking only with rankings, ranked playlist and social playlist and leave the game and all the components EXATCLY the way they are, i would deffinatly buy this for easily 20-30 bucks. i love halo 2 and miss matchmaking and having a rank, and i would deffinatly pay extra to have matchmaking back.

R.I.P. Halo 2
11/9/04 - 4/15/10

Absolutely.

I would go to the midnight release for it. Actually, probably not. But I certainly would fork out a significant amount of cash for this!

Hands down one of the best remakes that there would ever be!!!

  • 07.26.2010 9:53 PM PDT

Halo 1, 2 and 3 on the Reach engine?
I'd buy it :D

(Even if there were no texture\model\ enhancements, just a straight port of the content)

Yes I would buy it instantly as long as they kept it the same as Halo 2. If they kept all the glitches in the game still I would buy it. I figure if they did remake it they would replace the old friends list with the new xbox 360 style friends list and such but I wouldn't care about that :D as long as they left the glitches and stuff in the game I would get it.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

If Microsoft couldn't even port Halo 2 PC correctly, then I see no hope in a "2nd" remake for Xbox 360.

Seriously, they really made Halo 2 PC more -blam!-ier than Halo 1 PC and Halo 2 Xbox.

I am sure a lot of people would buy it, the problem is who is gonna make it? Bungie is busy with Reach, and then who knows what after that. And I think that Microsoft owns the rights to the Halo games from the original trilogy, so they would also have to give the OK to remake it.

At the same time a remake may not have some of the fun stuff the original did, mostly stuff like the super jumps.

I would buy a remake of it if I could play on live again, and it was under $20. If I couldn't have both of those it wouldn't be worth my time, I would just LAN the original.

This is true, Bungie's implementation of Havok was terrible, so instead of fall damage, we got super jumps. lol.

If such a thing were to happen, I hope Microsoft could make Halo 2 for Xbox 360 and Halo 2 PC, cross-platform.

Bring out those "2" missing campaign maps for fun.
Online co-op, to further promote it.
Saved Films, as Halo 2 was meant to support it one time.
Cross-platform, Cross-DLC, Same achievements and same game.

I hope Microsoft will see into this opportunity and release after Halo Reach.

This time, they better have experienced people who know the Blam! engine well.

Giggity Giggity Goo - Quagmire

I would buy it, but as Bungie is never making another Halo game, and they aren't going to be teaming up with Microsoft anytime soon, it won't happen.

Halo 2 for Life!

If it's the same as it was than I'd get it. Remakes that are poor shouldn't be done at all. But I think a good remake is in order and if that is what will happen i'm all for it.

  • 10.08.2010 2:26 AM PDT

If it was an exact remake with added stuff then maybe

  • 10.08.2010 9:14 AM PDT

Most definitely would buy it. I would want the exact game but playable in the 360 environment (i.e. Center button options). On disc, for download, it doesn't matter I would pay full 360 game prices for this. Halo 2 was the best game ever (Reach is pretty close) and I would still be playing multiplayer today if I could.
