Frankly, I think that that could be the only reason for the war, not to mention the Covies' motivation. They do not fear death. What kind of motivation, other than a religious one, could cause them to fight with such fervor and zealousness?

I think I read somewhere that it's a holy war but I haven't heard about it in the books.

Ha, Jihad. That sounds about right, or a Crusade.
I believe it is a religous, spritual war, but I think the Prophets have their other reasons to, but who knows.

Yes, the Prophets are making all the calls for the covanant. I think the first mesage a covanant ship ever gave a human one was something like " it is gods will that we destroy your species". Not that exactly, but very close to.

You were close. The exact quote was, and I quote,"You're destruction is the will of the gods. And we are their instrument."

It explains in the manual that comes with the game that the covanant see humans as being evil, and that the war is based on religion.

I realise that. But thanks anyway. I just wanted to know if anyone had any unheard of theories, by which I mean, theories that we all haven't heard a hundred times over, like the Human=Forerunner theory.

Any one here read the books? Well, in FS, after the end, the prophet has alot of those crystals thaat have something to do with earth. My question is why are the prophets so close to the brutes, apposed to the elites. Are they more loyal, or something???

They don't fear death, have you never seen what happens when you take a few pot-shots at a bunch of grunts. ( click here to find out).

I think that every species have different reasons for fighting, and different levels of braveory, but it all comes down to the Prophets minulipulating them

I think the Prophets tell the other species that the humans are an affront to the gods. There is a good chance they just told them that to manipulate them for their own ends.
