Basically, this is a place where people who are ,say, like me, stuck with dial up but have a top-notch computer can sign up and release frustraction. We could make a clan on Halo PC too. So basically im going to 'sign up' and if anyone else does just give the say-so.

sing me up with this one, and cost is an issue with us, cuz my family has some debt thats like 10,000 dollars and my dad is trying to find a job, cuz he got laid off of injury reasons, and my mom has the only real job, cuz im too young. I dont usually lag that much though. But when I do, its crazy. My dial up is 33.6 suck ass, but it's free, cuz of moms work, so its not all that bad.

and mr b, i am "stuck out in the ass end of somewhere" and i could get dsl but wed have to switch dish services to directTV and it would be ****ing expensive.

also, there are a decent many number of games where dial upers join but its still perfectly lagless. Even with like 8 people playing in Blood Gulch , it can be lagless. But in interior room levels like sometime Prisoner,Hang em high(i hate that one),and Derelect, it can get laggier. But we dont actually lag that much. What really P's me off is that a little box will appear in the corner and everyone else can move and shoot but all you can do is stand in one place and look around.

A good way to test lag is to throw a grenade and see how long it takes before it actually is thrown. Do the same thing when getting into a vehicle and if theres like no delay then your fine.

Ooh...it stinks to have Dial-up. Sometimes, when using a friend's dialup, I find myself kicked from the server cause of my ping...

i have dial-up, though i could get a better connection. It actually works pretty well though, i have very little lag when i play. I was able to shoot people no problem and never seemed to be warping out of the way of opposing projectiles (unfortunately).

Word of advice: if you guys are able to switch to DSL and will in the near future, do not get Qwest DSL. I've read on broadbandreports.com that Qwest uses a thingie called "interleaving", which makes transmissions of data packets more successful over poor-quality lines. This can raise pings higher than they should be. Basically, make sure you get an ISP that doesn't use interleaving if you want the best online gaming possible.

I know for a fact that ordinary WiFi disconnects/stutters every few minutes. This is different, so i don't really know if it will be a problem for gaming.
