In halo 1 the game lacked many weather effects( they only really had snow and ice. In halo 2 bungie promised new weather effects such as rain, hail, more snow, and even storms. Halo 2 has been in development for almost 3 years there is no reason not to for the game to reach alll expectations.

I do really hope that they have variable weather. It would be cool if you could set the weather and time of day.

In fact it would be really cool if like when it rained water would drip in to buildings from cracks in the roof or open holes. Course I doubt that would ever happen.

I do think it would be cool though if that happened and if you could blow lights out and other stuff. It would be so cool.

Who knows what next gen holds. Maybe then something like that would happen.

yeah bungie is running on strict limitations but im suprised how they squeezed so much power out of this engine. Halo 2 even uses less polygons than halo 1 normal mapping technology makes it possible(process of taking a texture and normal mapping it to look 2-3 times bettter but using half the polygons as a texture that is bump-mapped) so halo 2 is kinda like a new car using the same engine but pimped out with nitrous. It might not matter to you how much polygons a game uses but since halo 2 is using less polygons they can make levels bigger better and make the battles contain more enemies and foes(twice as much as halo 1)

343 GS was really just a dark swamp, there wasn't really any noticeable rain or anything, it'd be awesome if it rained and the drips would get on y our visor and the rain would make it hard to see anything at great distances, i.e. with a sniper rifle. I want weather that actually affects gameplay and isnt just there for aesthetic effects
