I like the Hunters in Halo, they're big, and scary until you find their weak spot, but even after that they become big playmates to have fun with. But what if it all changed, what if the Hunters covered that weak spot, or upgaded and moved quicker, or were given new weapons. What should happen to hunters in the Halo 2 to make them more threatening to your survival?

They could be given shields, that would protect them for longer whilst the new AI shines.
They could have the ability to knock over warthogs whilst they are moving.

Doesn't anyone think that the hunter really serve little point in halo once you've found their weak spot, they should be much tougher.

Hmmm what if the hunter could become infected with the Flood, that would make an interesting advesary. Flood warriors alone are a bi*** to kill provided you dont have a 12 gauge at your side.

They should make the Hunters armor cover their backs completely, or give them completly new armor that exposes no weak spots... by the way, has anyone heard anything about the Hunters coming back in Halo 2?

They should make a breackable armor...exemple: There could be a little shield on there weakspot and lets say after 2 shot of pistol the little shield would break and the weakspot will be vulnerable.

I'm pretty sure Bungie wouldnt leave out the amored brutes from the first Halo. I mean how can you have Halo without Hunters?? It would be cool if the did have different armaments though just for fun.

I think there's something about the Hunter you guys are missing. The only time Hunters are really easy to kill is when they are alone. A Hunter is basically an artillery peice, and how well do artillery pieces do when the encounter a tank at close range or a group of infantry, not well.
If you think about it Hunters can be a real pain if you've got to kill a few Grunt, Jackels, or Elites before getting close to them. Two Betrayals is a good example. Hunters can also a problem when you in a vech. I agree with you guys that Hunters need some kinda' tweaking to be more of a threat, but it doesn't have to be much of a tweak.

Yes maybe if they actually worked with the other races as a team, they would be harder to kill. New AI=teamwork!!!

Someone once suggested they put armor plating on their stomachs and backs - but this would leave them immobile, if you think about it.

Maybe if they had a sort of depressable armor, similar to your dryer's tube or like an accordian.

I think everyone is looking too deep into the waek hunter problem. Instead of covering up the only place that you can shoot them, why not simply make it so pistol isn't a one hit kill on them? I agree with the AI adjustment, but making them completely impenetrable is going a bit far....

If you were in the military and against a nearly unstoppable foe and you found a weak spot, would you really feel sorry for them and say that instead of them getting better armor we should just make our guns weaker? Two words, BAD TACTICS.

Actually, I really don't care if the hunters have tac-nuke launchers, I'll make em just as dead as I do in Halo.
