I was watching the E# video and at the end we all know that the master chief is faced with4 or 5 elites and i guess he is suppose to be able to handle then all. What I was whinking is that it will be extremly hard for the master chief to take these guys out alone right? I mean in Halo 1 probably the most formidable oponent would be a close range elite with a plasma sword right? So I was thinking that this could very well be where the rest of the spartens enter and sorta back the master chief up. Maybe Kelly will snipe em all or somthing I dunno just wondering what you gusy think?

the new marines have new armor thats like the chiefs, so they can help. And in the first halo you where put up against a lot more than that so it would be no prob. And it was a cut seen and he was about to throw a granade, so he probably servived.

I have also wondered if the other spartans would show up here to assist the Masterchief. Do you remember the recon team at the beginning of the E3 demo? They recommended that the mission be aborted. I think they are also a possibility as far as giving the chief some help. The spartans that are still with the chief at the end of First Strike are Will, Fred and Linda. Kelly's exact location has been unknown since Dr. Halsey drugged her and took her away. I believe if the other spartans were to show up at this point Linda would handle the sniper rifle because she is the best sniper in the spartan ranks. After all, a plasma grenade and two sub-machine guns don't seem to be enough against seven plasma-sword-wielding elites. To sum up the chief probably needs help from somewhere.

Spartans aren't no bloody pansys, dumbasses, and the Master Chief is the best of the lot. Have a little faith, he's a big boy and can handle himself.
Also, I have my own theory on the other spartans. The E3 may not be the best source for accurate information on a game that will not be released for months. I think that the three ODSTs with you at the start, will be exchanged for your fellow Spartans. They could serve no more purpose than a little foreshadowing.

I too think that, too bad some of the best SPARTANS (personally my favorite), ex. SPARTAN-029, Josh, was blown up some way or another. Josh was shot down while comandeering a banshee for those who have not read "The Fall Of Reach." But I too believe ODSTs will help you in the beginning, but then be exchanged for some kick butt SPARTANS.

Just for the record kelly is the fast one, Linda is the sniper.

The chief faught one sword wielding elite in First Strike, and was getting his ass kicked untill Johnson helped him.

Or it's just a demo that does not happen in the game.

It'd be awsome if the OBST's and the MC worked together in a squad base type combat.

If you guys had read last years June OXM you would know that the demo shown will be a part of the game itself. It talks about how they chose New Mombosa as the level they wanted to include, and that they didn't want to waste resources by making a bunch of stuff that wouldn't be in the game itself. Here's a quote given in the mag from Staten; "Events like E3 have the potential to become huge resource bonfires, so I decided early on that whatever intro cinematic we used for the demo, it would be the actual cinematic we'd use in the final game."
Now I'm sure the level won't be exactly the same, they have to tweak it to maximize the fun factor, but it will be there.

Well that's your fault, considering it's last years issue, you could have bought it when it came out last year, or you could have ordered it, OXM allows you to order back issues. That's also to bad you don't have it, it's a really good issue.

Well they use to have a coupon in the magazine that you cut out and send in telling them which issue you wanted with a check or money order. I can't find it in any of my newer issues though. I would suggest emailing xboxmag@futurenetworkusa.com. That's their customer service email, and they can probably tell if and what issues you can get. To let you know my magazine that has the coupon in it prices the past issues at US$9.95, or US$12 for Canada.

It puts a smile on my face to know that E3 is less than a week away; I'm thinking that tying in last years E3 with the stuff being shown at this years would be a smart idea

I mean, look how coordinated and "planned out" the screenshots were: it makes sense to tie in any video that they've released; Bungie is a perfectionist group you know...

As you can probably tell from my signature, SPARTAN-043, Will, is my favorite Spartan-II because he shares my name and if I remember correctly is known as the strongest and most adept warrior in the human race, but John is still luckier. I have no idea what the hell Halsey is doing with Kelly, though. It would seem the UNSC scientists have been -blam!-s enough to the Spartans, and now this? I hate those folks!

Anyways, I think the reason that 3 Spartan-IIs were left alive at the end of First Strike was because Halo 2 will have 4-player co-op, and this is the perfect explanation. I really don't want to see tactical squad combat in Halo 2, at least nothing more complex than the Marines that followed you around in Halo. It's just not that kind of game, and it would mess with the flow of the gameplay if there was a command interface or you had mission-critical guys following you around (remember Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary?).
