dmbfan answers my PMs

*gets warm fuzzies*

I answer 95% of PMs. The ones I don't answer are the "How do you become a moderator?" PMs (since I don't have a clue) and the... death threats... But, besides that, every single PM gets answered.

He's talking about me not the 95% pm's i send him the other ones, it's so encouraging he mentioned me i'll have to keep the pm barrage up.

All the mods are awesome. But, dmbfan is the only one of the mods I've ever really met on bnet before the modship.

Seems like the more mods we get, the more people like to pester them. I sense a positive correlation here...

this is turning into nothingness... but has anyone noticed that dmbfan is the only mod that has a good sense of humor? I mean everytime I run into a mod he's all serious or acts tough, dmbfan just puts jokes and has a lot of fun. Thanks for it dmbfan (can't remember the number I think it's 09) you've made the forums fun again.

You don't hang around much, do you? Dunno, maybe whenever mods talk to you they're telling you not to spam or something... :P

I'm certifiable.

I think we all try to keep a sense of humour close to hand when moderating here... otherwise, we'd crack like wine glasses at a colatura recital.

As to PMs, I try to answer all of them except for the few defiant proclamations against blacklistings; if there are questions, I'll answer those, but not the "you'll never break me, copper" variety. (I keep the nasty ones of the latter on file so that, when the writer finally gets caught setting fire to kittens, I can forward them on to their Juvenile Detention officer upon request.)

-- Steve hasn't run into too much nastiness yet here, though. Mostly it's been fairly nice.

I bull-blam!- those ones. Usually I'll say something along the lines of "Go ask your mother". As an interesting aside, TGP's example proves that doing exactly the opposite of what I tell you when you ask how I became a mod (or as he put it, "the Perth mod") is a good way to get there.

And Anton, just to let you know, wineglasses don't shatter at Pavarotti recitals. Firstly he sings too well for anyone to drop a glass in horror (which is what you'd do on hearing me sing), and secondly, the resonant frequency of crystal is far higher than a tenor's voice - it's closer to a soprano. Just so nobody looks silly in front of the kids. :)

Ninja powers to the rescue! :)

-- Steve isn't much of an opera fan, as you may have guessed. It's all fat people bellowing at each other to him, but he understands that some folk enjoy it. (Much as some enjoy that modern beat poetry they're calling "rap".)

Dude (as all the young adults are saying). Never, ever draw an analogy with opera and rap.

It's just not right.

Why not? They're both story-telling media using lyric and rhythm to... oh. Damn. Now I have to blacklist myself for posting off-topic and spamming in the Septagon. Ratsin'-fratsin' Ninja Code...

Couple things. First, rap sucks dude. Second, so does opera.

Also. I saw this thing on discovery channel awhile back about the glass breaking thing. A normal voice can't do it. It has to be amplified somehow.

Were you paying attention? That was a Mythbusters episode. Some rock star shattered a crystal glass with his voice. Then to prove that an inexperienced vocalist could do it, with the right voice, the host of the show shattered a different glass in just a few tries.

This really is getting off topic, oh and just so all the mods now, I didn't mean to be offensive about the sense of humor. I guess maybe it was bc the only mods I usually run into is Shiska and Archonos.

Well, to kick the driver out of his seat on this thread and take it on a joyride...

You forgot about melody! And also the fact that one of them doesn't make me want to kill not only those around me but myself as well.

Apart from that, though, you're right. Opera and rap are basically the same.

^_-

Weirdo.
