''BOTS/SIMULANTS''

If there are any N64 lovers or fan types on this forum i am sure that u will at some point have played Perfect Dark, Now as Halo 1 is an amazing game, i do find that some things lack from it, and one of these things are its multi-player abilitys. As i am sure most of u would want bots on the final version of Halo 2, what we ened to ask is what role model of ''bots/simulants'' does Halo 2 need to look at? Bots from Red Faction 2 and Time Splitters 2 were very predictable, and the difficulty was only set to a certain amount. there accuracy, strengh, speed and technique was not really challenging, but when Perfect dark steps in, its a whole new matter. ''simulants'' as they were known as would not simply hunt down targets, they would gatehr mmo, shileds, better guns and the difficulty settings were much more advanced. they could move faster than you, and have 100% accuracy and split second reactions making the game more challenging. but not only this but if certain simulants were on your team they could be controlled by you, to defend, hunt, stay where they shud be, to hunt a particular player, to protect a particular player etc. a system ive never seen so advanced in any other shoot-em-up game. simulants ranged fromt here appearance, difficulty, to wat kind of ''sim'' they were. u could choose from certain ones called ''KazeSims, ShieldSims, CowardSims'' and many more and each one had its own uniqe fighting style. Could Halo benefit from using or atleast looking into investing these kind of systems into its own multi-player!!??

''WEAPONS''

Now as im aware there WILL be many more weapons but another thing it could lack which perfect dark does not is a 2nd feature or a 2nd function for each gun. Such things again ive only really seen exist in Perfect dark, guns such as pistols could be used as pistol whips. machine laptop guns could be thrown onto walls to be placed as sentry guns, rocket launchers could have a fly by wire control. other machines could be placed as mines, while others could have converted rockets. certain pistols could have 1 shot killes, while others could vary from 1 shot to 3 shot bursts. Now as from the live footage shown at certain events the rifle used in alo 2 does have a 2nd function but will this be included in all guns...and once again could Halo2 use ideas/examples from perfect dark.

Tell me, as i want to hear but do u think Halo2 is better built on its own advances and systems such as its future setting, plase rifles/pistols, jumping into space crafts, advanced vehicle settings, master chief outfits. or could it benefit the old but VERY advanced game of its time perfect dark, with its individual multi-player system, ad weapon settings?

If Perfect Dark had an Xbox Graphics boost. It would be the best game for years to come... I can't believe it, and barely anybody saw the game... insane. First game to show you blood hit the wall behind their body. Double Falcon 3 silenced was so kick ass... Aww man I loved that gun. And the music.

imagine placing a Laptop gun over your shoulder while pulling out your second rifle to give the covenant/flood a double blast of your weapons. once again a new level of excitement and entertainment this could bring into the game!

I shouldn't vote for this lol, I never played Perfect Dark.

Side note: what happened to Nintendo anyway? I own 2 XBOXs, 2 PS2s and a Gamecube. The XBOXs are almost always in use, the PS2s I use for Time Crisis (with light guns :P) and classic PS1 games (woooooo Future Cop LAPD, the 3rd best game I have ever played). The Gamecube, however, is useless. Sure, if I was a girl and liked playing fluffy pink dinosaur games, or would spend £30 on a game that involved being a monkey rolling around in a ball (seriously, it's a game) then my opinions might be different. Ok I didn't really finish bt this is too off topic lol.

Perfect Dark was the BEST!!!! I think Halo 2 could take a page from Perfect Dark. They only reason I don't play it anymore is the control shceme (one stick). Whatever happened to Perfect Dark Zero?

For some reason I have found myself playing my N64 reacently, golden eye was one of my favorite FPS and it was supprising how easy it was to get to grips the with legacy controlls.
I remember perfect dark too, lol i loved the controllable rockets (they were a campers worst nightmare) I remembered it so fondly that I actually bought it from e-Bay yesterday. Its quite funny seeing how much golden eye, PD and Halo have in common.

how could you use a secondary fire on a weapon in halo 2? first of all most games use right trigger primary fire (like halo) and left trigger secondary fire. there's something called grenades ass! OH and what about duel wielding you wouldn't be able to do that either if you implemented secondary fire on guns. settle for duel wielding it's the closest thing in halo 2 you're gonna get to secomdary fire. one more thing perfect ddark sucked goldeneye was 10x better. and perfect dark zero is gonna have cartoony stupid graphics even though it's on the xbox.

if i remeber correctly the n64 controller had only 1 trigger, scondary fire was implimented by pressing another button to change from prmary fire to secondary fire, so i could see how it would be implimented into Halo. I wouldn't want it to though, Halo is fun because it is simple.
And whats with all the assing? there really is no need.

lol, thats totally rong!! secondary fire was made wen u pressed another button to make it different, u could still wield two guns etc and grenades were selected as a seperate gun, not like a hole button jus for grenades!

uh...halo is about skill... not placing oo7 gadgets. and the second trigger...its called hand grenade and dual weild. it was a second trigger in marathon, but grenades all the time was cooler when you have vehicles...which have second triggers.

and the big emphasis in multi player is the MULTI-player. hint hint. bots are a cool add on, but so is a really good campaign. something PD misses.

other way around here-- PD has to learn some from... Goldeneye.

that is the most flawed statement i have ever seen. Halo 1 defined multi-player on the xbox. In Halo 2 they are trying to recreate that experience over xbox live. bots suck anyways...so boring. and BTW goldeneye's multi-player saw so many more hours than perfect dark's on my N64. Perfect Dark's bots i thought took away from it's multiplayer. multiplayer is meant for more than 1 person playing...hence the name multiplayer. I hope Halo 2 doesnt include bots...it would be a disgrace to the Halo series multiplayer.

I do have XBL, but I hated bots in Perfect Dark also...I just think that they take away from the multiplayer experience. If you want to play against computers play the campaign.

I liked Perfect Dark but on the harder settings, the bots got too crazy. They were almost suicidal and never hesitated to run around any corner and kill you. It's not as fun when your enemies always run straight at you and don't bother trying to defend themselves. If you tried their tactics, you'd almost always die....
