Yes, it could compare, . . . . . . but it doesnt.
I think that PD was one of the best games ever made on a console (and it still is). PD and halo have a lot in common already, but I must admit that PD has a lot more content in terms of what can be done in the game. PD has more guns, and each gun could do several things. Even when you were unarmed, you could attack or disarm your enemies if you got close enough.
*WEAPONS*
Perfect Dark:
Sniper rifle that can shoot through walls and the scope could see through walls, its special function allowed the user to 'home in' on targets. (this was my favorite gun)
A rocket launcher that could fire remotely controled rockets (better than laser guided)
Laptop gun could be placed as a sentry gun, proxy mines, nerve bombs, ..... a huge list of cool weapons.
Halo:
Every waepon in halo has a very subtle and unique use. The limitation of only carrying two weapons brings careful strategies into the gameplay (both single and multiplayer).
Vehicles!!!! halo has vehicles, need i say more??
*Story*
Perfect Dark
Futuristic earth setting, your a spy-type person, there are conspiracies and aliens and artificial intelegences....sound familiar?
Halo: i shouldnt need to write anything here....
Game features:
Both games feature excelent single player, and two player cooperative campaign modes. Both games offer a configurable spectrum of multiplayer game modes.
Perfect dark has unlockable content and some configurable content (player skins).
Only Perfect Dark has Bots. This is its only concievable advantage over Halo.
Halo has superior music, sound effects and of course graphics. But this comparrison is unfair since PD was released on N64.
what realy made PD such a good game was its Bots, combined with the large quantity of maps and different weapons. up to 4 players could play as a team against numerous bots. If halo 2 supports bots in this way, even if its offline only, it will be amazing!
Ya know what else Perfect Dark had? Counter-Opertive. Since you can be an Elite, I'd like to see that in Halo 2. And maybe you could command your grunts, jackles and everything else.
The Suicide pill would be a plasma grenade to the face.
