I was just thinking of a cool feature for Bungie.net users, a user friends list. Now this, if it's even being thought of made, does not have to come out right away, maybe even AFTER Bungie's next project. If you've ever been on myspace.com and you have a profile, you see that you can have a friends list and you can see when people who are on your friends list are on. I think the same list that is used for linking your gamertag should be implemented on Bungie.net. I also think that underneath your name an avatar it should have a line of text saying that you are signed into Bungie.net on an .net passport. That way if I have a discussion with someone in a thread of mine I can see if hes there or not.

I think that would be a pretty nice feature. Being able to tell when people I know are looking over B.net would be a plus, otherwise you really can't know if someone is on the forums unless you see them post recently.

You could just have their IM. Then you even wouldn't have to talk with them through b.net.

If you had a friend on B.net you would have their name and PM right?

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I think it would be neat to have a seperate app where you put in your Bungie.net name and you can have a friends list of other Bungie users. Bungie doesn't have to make it, either.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Hell over half my list of 150 people on aim are from bungie or something online.. most bungie. Yet I think the online feature would be nice. as sometimes I dont check my aim all the time. AND some people dont sign into aim all the time when on bungie (many of my friends). If you saw it say there were on you could PM them to sign into AIM. Instead of guessing if they are there and they not be but get the msg like 4 hours later when your no longer on.

Its not important but deffinetly a good idea.

On rvb people send friend requests for no reason grrrr

I'll be on my own side.

It would be useful for sending PM's, as it would be much easier than looking through the forums trying to find one of their posts, or having to search for them. Also, a lot of people don't have AIM, aren't online all the time, or just prefer not to put thier screen name in their profile.

Yeah, although I'm not sure the ninjas would be too happy with that as they'd probably get a hundred friend requests a day. I imagine It'd get very annoying for them. I would want to see a friends list implementation. Nice idea.

Good point, and that's why there would be the option of disabling friend requests and/or messages. RvB has this option.

Well, I never really thought of having friend requests. You could just put up to 100 people on your list, possible more, like 200 should do. If there were friend requests you would have the option in your account settings to disable or enable the ability to recieve them, this way ningas or anyone can just disable the friend request feature so they won't be bothered.
Also the friends list would just be a listf names and would have a shiny 7 next to their name if they were off and an X if they were on. By clicking on their name you open their profile in a new window so you can send them a P_rivate Message. you should also, like Xbox Live have the option to "message all friends" this way you can notify people of a new group you made, to come support one of your threads, or tell them about your newly aquired lvl 5 in double team. This will be useful to:
1.) Tell if a friend of yours is online
2.) Easily send them a Private Message without having to sifft through a public or group forum.
3.) Message all your friends the same thing instead of going through everyone you know.

I am on Msn.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

A wonderful idea, in my opinion. Not everyone likes having people they don't know on their MSN and AIM friends lists (me included. I do it anyway, but I've never been completely comfortable with hit... no offense to those who are on them). This would be a way of getting around that, and would make the PM system much more useful and effective.

Although I'm sure there's going to be some problems with implementing such a feature... The internet is cooky like that.
