Don't worry; I am completely unbiased in this post - I hate all consoles equally, the big PC fanboy I am (I can't help it!).
I have purchased a Microsoft Xbox and own a Nintendo Gamecube (my friend kind of left it at my house and forgot about it... even after seeing it sitting there). The only good game I have played for Xbox is Halo. Likewise, the only good game I have played for Metriod Prime. Therefore, Xbox is better in my opinion, because Halo is better than Prime. Sure, you have some titles like Riddick and Super Smash Bros. Melee, but they're all rather unremarkable. However, I love my GBA, if only for the Metroid and Sonic games on it.
Overall, I think they are two competing companies but they should remain separate - the more competition you have the more motivation you have to actually work on games that are good enough to edge out the competition rather than simply pumping out crap titles that people will buy because they trust commercials, or because the game is based on a popular movie or other form of media.
That is all.
