He needs the armor, for um...Not getting burned alive. I don't know many other uses for "Armor" than "Armoring" someone, and he only has a 90 minute Oxygen tank.

The armor is apart of his body. Thats how he gets all his strength, shield and health monitors, and other things. It just not for an oxygen tank, I'd like to know where you got that from?

--The books is were I found that little fact.

There was oxygen on Halo. Didn't you notice the Marines weren't wearing Oxygen Masks and pressure suits?

Halo already had oxygen. I don't know if you noticed but there were tons of breather-less Marines and trees on that ring-world. If you think that his helmet is just for a breather, that maybe you wouldn't know that the black suit-like part of MC's armor can cushion extreme falls and be changed according how how much protection he needs. This is one of the reasons why he survived the ride down from the PoA. His armor is much more badass than you think..

He needs the armor cuz his skin hasn't seen natural light in years.

Read the books, he's white as a ghost now, esp. after all the cryosleep. Which also eats at his skin, remember?

covered skin gets damaged by the cryo tube.

Umm. You mean all those 9 planets, we really can see well. Halo was a created forteress world. Lifeforms lived there, and life needs oxygen.

Just because Halo has oxgen doesn't mean that the Forerunners are human. It would be very improbable for a forerunner to be human, maybe humanoid, but not human from earth.

MC wears this special suit because he was bread to kill and survive conditions a normal human coundent. Also i noticed on the level halo, the men you get that have no armor get hurt more then the marines with armor. So if the Chief was naked and he got hit by a frag granade he would probably die, but with armor it would probably just tickle him. do you all get what i mean? And remember when Chief jumps out of the ship into space in Halo 2, he probably has a air tank on him, or just an air filter where he breaths in... oh that would be cool
