I always try to put into words the strange awe of brilliance that there is about the original halo. I just cant put my finger on it tho. Its just so great. Just something so totally different to it than halo 2 that makes it untouchable. The HUD just feels right. It seems more exciting, and the whole gameplay feels totally unique like no other. In halo 2 I find myself feeling like the only thing i'm doing is trudging thro waves of enemies like a basic shoot em up game like loads of others. But not in halo, it feels . . . I dunno, kool. I always go back to playing halo every now and then still, even with halo 2 sitting beside my xbox. Since I completed halo 2 way back, I never found myself having that same urge to play it like I did with halo.

Halo 1 did have alot of cooler battles. Maybe not bigger, but alot more fun. Who here did the final run on two betrayals on legendary? Or.....the grav-lift on Truth and Reconciliation in legendary? The final run at the Maw? How can that even be matched? lt's impossible. My thoughts before Halo2 came out: l knew, no matter how great Halo2 was going to be, there was no way the ending would be more exciting then racing againts the clock, driving as fast as you could, your heart pounding, mind racing! Halo1 was alot of fun. The only battle l really appreciated for such originality was the Sacrab battle. l loved that. But it would have been more fun with a timer!!! Like say Cortana said something like this, "Chief, by analizing the Scarab's total body mass, the horse power of the Scarab, and the structure of the damn l estimate you've got less then 2 minutes to stop it!!!" How awesome would that be?

Well, to be honest, that's why I love Halo from othe Sci-Fi shooters. You aren't pressed for time. Only in the Maw. But in the other levels, you may take as long as you want to fight. But I must say, it was fun at the end of the Maw, where you had to abandon the Warthog, jump out, and make it into the LongSword with 5 seconds left to spare. It felt like I was in Slow-mo... or bullet time.

I would be mad in halo 3 if they added retarded Boss levels... or enemies... More enemies are good, but i hate bosses... Continue like theyve always have is good...
Halo 1 is just... old...

I think the last mission on halo 1 was AWSOME... it was like a race hehe, but 5 seconds? only on legendary do i have 5 seconds left >.> i usually have about 45 seconds if i dont crash, cause i have done that mission so many times i know which way to go, where to turn, and what up ahead...
slow mo bullets with a sniper rifle would be awsome on 1 player :D

Wow 45 seconds? That's it? l must be a good driver because l usually make it with 2 minutes +

And about the boss battles.....they're stupid. No army has a "boss" waiting to be used. lt's unrealistic.

My theory is that Halo rocks because it's shiny. Halo 2 was not shiny. Thats why I liked Halo better.

Who said he hated Halo 2? He just realizes that Halo is more sound than its sequel.

Let me rephrase that:
Since when is thinking that Halo 1 is better than Halo 2 being a "true fan"?

I agree

I love both games

I like halo more for its singleplayer, and halo2 more for its multiplayer (although, i feel the story of halo2 was MUCH better, but then again, its a continuation)

And why do you even have to compair them? Do you like one Lord of the Rings movie more then another? you shouldnt, because its all one story, just happens to be 3 movies. I look at halo2 like the second part of the halo story in total. There is no need to like one more then the other, why not just say you love HALO (not halo ce or halo2)

return of the king owned the two towers, and everyone knows that the fellowship sucked.

halo1 was played nonstop by my friends and i for years. how long? since it came out till halo2 came out. i think we played a little driv3r every now and then, but basically just halo1.

halo2 comes out, and we play hte campaign and halo1 multiplayer. then the patch comes out and we play halo2 multiplayer. then we realize it still sucks and play halo1 again. as well as guild wars!!!!....

Of course you can compare the two games. You can compare anything that is different. And the two games ARE different. So u can say which one of those differences you like batter. Simple. Just said I love the original. Not biast. (Halo rules forever and a day lol)

Ok, here's how I see it. Halo was out for what 4 years? And I wouldn't have cared if they ever made a sequel. But with Halo 2 I really just want them to make Halo 3 as quick as possible to get that gross Halo 2 feeling out of the way.

Exactly. Halo CE's levels and maps had a greater amount of luster (shinyness). That is actually one of the first things I noticed about Halo 1 and noticed was not in Halo 2. Halo 2 looks dull graphicswise. Halo CE was much more visually beautiful than Halo 2 was. Truth and Reconciliation was the most beautiful level when you boarded the Covenant ship because it was so shiny. It also had the coolest and most mysterious music. Also, Chill Out was shiny.

There are several Halo 2 battles that can match this:
The elevator fight on Quarantine Zone----------
This is my favorite; It's dark, you only have 4 elites, dozens of flood climb onto the platform from all directions...

Please tell me that your kidding. That stupid evelvator was one of the worst experiences of my life. Your on a stinkin tiny platform moving at a snail's a pace, being attacked by the easiest, and least satisfying to kill, enemies a game has ever produced. Not only that but your allies shoot you as often as the flood. To top it off if you happen to fall off or if a flood gets ONE lucky shot you have to start all over again. Who wants to spend that long in one place killing the same people over and over and over and over again?. Gets a little boring.

what about the Metropolis, that entire level kicks ass. Actually now that i think of it, the only problem with Halo 2 was that the levels where too short. Or maybe it was just that feeling of playing like 3 levels over in Halo that made them feel short. Well either Way Both games are greater, from almost any perspective.
