If only it were true.

Seriously, how stale has Halo 3 matchmaking gotten? It's ridiculous, when you think about all the potential the game had the day it was released.

It's like they never cared about wether or not we played the same goddamn map variants over and over and over and over and over again.

It is my assumption that, as the playlist overlord or whatever, it's Shiska's fault that the matchmaking maps lacked a serious amount of creativity and freshness.

At least we'll have Forge World soon. Hopefully Shishka gets replaced, although he's already using Forge World to create MP maps so I am skeptical of this.

You would think that Bungie would have their best interest in mind by finding a new guy or maybe even two, wouldn't you?

New features have been in every Halo game, even if they were a little lackluster in their infancy (Matchmaking, Forge, crazy amounts of custom game variability)

At least with all the polished features in Reach Bungie is finally kinda acting like they make the big bucks, ya know? There's nothing terribly new in Reach as far as features go, but that means that all the pre-existing features have gotten a much welcomed makeover.

Maybe we'll get to see more frequent change in Reach's MM as a result of this.

Edit: Also, daily challenges will help keep things fresh regardless of wether or not the MM playlists are full of maps that get beaten mercilessly into the ground.

I would like to thank Bungie for hiring Killa KC as the new playlist overlord.

What's this? So was Shiska's replacement not a rumor after all? I find this hard to believe so I will not believe it until it has been proven to me. Once it is proven to me, I will jump for -blam!- joy!

Also, to answer the above question...

Shishka let matchmaking get stale. Hella stale. All it would have taken was maybe a few more map variants and gametype variants, and better maintenance of the playlists themselves was expected. Well, expected by me anyway.

I'm exited for Halo: Reach and would hope with a game with a huge release like Reach they will stop taking their fans for granted.

Halo: Reach is going to have a massive population, hopefully they don't just pull up a program that randomizes a gametype and map and be like "lets put that in match making". (That's actually what I think Shiska does)

I would like to thank Bungie for the memories, the real friendships your games have created for me, and the good times and the bad.

Thank you Bungie for Reach in advance.

I have high hopes as well, and like I said (I think with that quote you missed the edit I just squeezed into it) they've already taken some steps to ensure freshness, so no matter what I can't possibly be let down too much because Bungie is showing off all sorts of cool -blam!- lately.

But I agree, taking fans for granted is something that Bungie should not (and, in my opinion, will not) do in the months and years following Reach's release. I feel Bungie showed a little too much of that in the recent days of Halo 3's matchmaking.

Herping your derp.

Thanks for not replying to my email pertaining to what classes would be suitable for a profession in video game design.

And the bull-blam!- that I see everytime I play on Halo 3.

I guess the campaign was okay.

You made me play Oni way too much and almost missed my friend who was leaving for Nevada. I ain't even mad about that.
