With the recent announcement of the Halo PC "flair" in Reach I've become interested in replaying my copy of Halo PC (from the looks of the forums others have gotten the same idea). Upon placing the disc in my drive and running the auto boot I get a message that reads:

"Setup was unable to find (or could not read) the language specific setup resource dll, unable to continue. Please reboot and try again."

I've searched the folders on the disc and can't find any clues. Anyone have experience with this issue that could lend me a hand? I would be deeply appreciative.

PS: Rebooting and trying again doesn't work.

Something smells fishy...

If I interpreted your post correctly, you are trying to install Halo Combat Evolved while booting up your computer. If you are that's not how you install a game. You need to be in the OS environment.

Also if you are just now installing Halo Combat Evolved for the first time ever you will not be eligible for the reward. I believe the cutoff was sometime in May 2010.

If I interpreted your post correctly, you are trying to play Halo PC once again, but lucky you, your CD key is valid, due to having played it already.

If you want to play anyway, buy a new copy, because your disc may be damaged.

also Agemenmon matt, are you ok?

Yeah I'm okay. I think....

I guess I made a dumb post. Sorry. It's not the first time.

You and I Moifugley are on the same page. I am reinstalling my old copy that I bought years ago (before Halo 2) and I too believe the disk is damaged in some way.

I have a friend who also has Halo PC so I may borrow his disk but use my key to install it and then patch it so I won't require a disk at all.

PS: I apologize to Agemenmon, I worded my first post horribly lol.
