Hey guys, that new campaign trailer was so awesome I just had to fiddle around with some Noble Team characters and finally settled on Emile.

Hope everyone likes it. Keep in mind it's a sketch not a full out render. Can't wait to see some comments.

Very interesting, it has a comical taste to it. (If you know what I mean) Overall I think you did a great job, and you should make a background.

Backgrounds are lame and distract from the drawing. Lol. If anything, I'll Xacto the image and put it on black paper. It was really just for fun to play with some interesting figure drawing and marker technique.

I'm mad at the scanner/camera cause it never records color all that correct. I had to edit it the best I could to get the real colors out, but either way. I'm glad you like it! Thank you sir for your praise and critique!

Wow, that guy really likes soup.

Backgrounds take more talent and effort than simply copying from Bungie's renders. I'm lazy.

1. Soup?

2. Yes, I suppose backgrounds do take more effort . . . Talent? I'd argue that. If you're subject is fairly believable, then I have no doubt that the artist has the capability to make a believable background.

3. I never claimed this to be an original idea or concept so I'm not sure what your jab about "copying Bungie's renders" is suppose to mean.

4. Lazy? I didn't realize that taking an hour or two out of my day to sketch up something I thought was rather cool and share it with the Bungie community would be considered "lazy." May I ask what you do with your spare time, other than trolling and just generally being an ignorant jerk on fan forums?

Seriously, your comment not only was unecessary, but untrue. It's cool if you don't like the art. Everyone has their personal opinion, and quite frankly are entitled to it. But your comment was neither helpful, constructive, or positive.

The idea is what many like to call "artist interpretation." I didn't directly copy the render, but I did use it as an extensive guide. I am more than capable of copying the render to every last detail, but that doesn't interest me. Like the first comment pointed out, I gently pushed the image toward a graphic-novel style. It was quick and fun and let me experiment with new techniques. It was never meant to be a 3 day opus of fine art that belongs in the Louvre.

Chill out man, I actually like the drawing. Of course you're going to use the render for reference, and stylizing it up a bit rather than copying every tiny detail showed finesse.

Whether or not you can pose the figure in different ways doesn't detract from the quality of this drawing, obviously.

I only meant to call you out on this-

Think of it as my retort; just a good-natured dose of egalitarian razzing. Jokes always have an element of untruth to them.

Fair enough. I mistook your ability to judge art. My statement was a joke as well, ie why I put "LoL" or "Haha" at the end so it's more clear. It may help if you did the same.

My apologies. I'm glad you liked the art. I'll try not to be so defensive in the future, especially with you. Haha.
