the pistol is your best friend in the world. sleep with it, eat with it, pea with it. in other words never put it down.

the backpack reload glitch is your next best friend. to do this press x,x,y. in other words your going to hit reload twice than switch to your other weapon. while you are using your other weapon the weapon "in your backpack" will reload.

there are two videos i recommends. they are called halo basic essentials and advanced essentials. you can find them at HBO. If you have those these tricks mastered than it is just a matter of practicing to get better.

now that backpack reload... i never noticed that. a nice trick to know. now depending on what kind of player you are you need different weps.

If you are a sniper, like myself (you really only should be a sniper if you can successfully motion snipe) then I would reccomend either an SR and a Plasma Rifle or an SR and a shotgun. I use different combos different times.

but focused is right. Unless you're a sniper, pistol is a great utility. always have one. after that I reccomend using a plasma rifle (easily take out energy shields) or a shotty or, even if you want, an assault rifle. so basically you either want a pistol or an SR with you at all times

training wise there are several places in campaign good to train...

for general training, do the library on heroic until you are good enough to do it on legendary. great place to just practice killing as many guys as you can

for sniper training, Truth and Reconciliation on Legendary is the only way to go. And make sure you try to use ONLY your sniper rifle until you run out of ammo. also in the beginning don't let yourself be seen and dont move in until you have sniped out EVERY enemy on radar

finally, for warthog training, i reccomend doing the MAW on legendary, but taking all of the "secret"passage ways along the way (some are shortcuts, other are bad) to make it harder for yourself.

for multiplayer training, if you get halo 2, you can practice with my clan during practices if you wish. just PM me and keep in touch

the only other advice I can give you that i can think of right now is that when going up against a scorpion use the ghost , using a combo of turning and straffing the scorpion can't keep up with your ghost, but be care ful no to go too far ahead...

if you friends are in a warthog .... throw a grenade a few spaces away from which they're heading at they will dirve over it just as they explode....and fall out....if they survive get a pistol or your best weapon ( not sniper rifle though ) and should their remains!
