I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

I'm just wonderingwhat game was the Mark IV armor (armor in my avatar) in? The only other Bungie games I have played are Oni and the Marathon 2 demo(grrrrr I wish I had mac, but I'm happy to play new games on my pc :)
Thanks for the info.

I dont like macs because like no games work for them! I would only get one to play the old Bungie games, and then I would just get a crappy used one.

So does this mean that halo is connected to other past bungie games? if there's similarly named armor in them does that mean they could be prequels?

I don't think Halo is connected to other games, except little mentions of them for the people who played them. And all I know about the armor is somebody here said that the armor in my avatar is Mark IV(I don't remember who).

Bungie has said that the ties between Halo and other games are there only as homages, nothing more. The Mark IV armor was part of the Marathon series I believe, although I haven't played them. I really should, I'm on a mac right now. If only they were free....

Ok people heres the lowdown (as far as info from the books is provided). The MARK I suits were designed for combat, but either needed thier own generator to run them or some sorta wide broadcast power thingy (read FoR). The project was scrapped because they were so ineffecient and bulky, and many were retired to lifting containers and doing mining work. Later, ONI took em back for training purposes with the Spartans after their augumentation. 3 trainers had been killed so the trainers were using the suits. As for MARK II and III, i would assume that these were prototypes that couldnt be utilized by human beings (the Spartans have problems at the beggining with thier own suits).

Nice but you still haven't answered my question, which is was the Mark IV in a Bungie game? And if not, where did the image for my avatar come from?
BTW Shame on you jharbst! The mac action sack is only ten bucks! You should be able to afford that. And if you can't eat Ramen Noodles for 2 weeks and buy it with the money you save :)

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

What the Spartan IIs were given was Mark V armor the whole time. When they added the energy shielding as ending phase of project Mjolnir that could be considered as possibly Mark V.1. So far spartans have only worn Mark V. There marine trainers wore Mark I when they would spar with the Spartans.

Your avatar the same one I have is from Marathon. He is whereing Mark IV armor and carrying a Spankr rocket launcher.

dude, about the avator, that suit could be from any video game. Thats not a screenshot or even a little cinamatic, thats a drawn pic for a game. It could be from anywhere. And like i said about the Spartan III's.....

Hmph.

The avatar everyone's arguing about IS the Mk IV MJOLNIR armor, and it IS from Marathon. It's a painting done for Bungie by Craig Mullins, who did similar art for all of the Marathon series and has done some work for Halo, as well (for example, this wallpaper).

The Mk V armor that Master Chief and the other spartans wear is another homage to Marathon. You guys really need to do your homework.

Bungie.org has kept a library of Mullins' Marathon work here. See anything familiar?

Thanks Shiska. Damn those paintings make me want to play Marathon. Curse you Windows! And Apple! And Linux while I'm at it! Lol
