My original point with what I said and the additional "derp" is that Reach is much more casual. I am well aware of Arena...but I am still very skeptical of the bloom functionality and overall gameplay. It will be interesting to see what MLG can do to fix the game.
The Arena is the "non casual" part of the game, where if you lose, nothing at all is gained whatsoever, infact your rating suffers, so what I originally said is totally true (an unwarranted Derp situation).
Bloom just adds an extra depth to the mechanics of firefights, rather than just spam your BR irrespective of the player placement (leading shots aside) you now how to consider distance and timing in your DMR battles. Even more so now every weapon seems to have a role rather than the "Have BR, can win" mentality that ruled 3.
As for MLG "fixing" the game, you haven't played it to consider what needs fixing. The BETA was a month behind Bungies internal only build of the game, where much of what was complained about was already fixed and dealt with (player speed, grenade damage etc). If you consider it in need of fixing, why buy it in the first place?
Arena's ranking does not motivate me the way I see it. I like the ranking system of Halo 3.
Bloom is not Halo at all. Before you tell me it was in Halo 1, 2 and 3, it isn't. Because precision weapons don't have a bloom.
The BR is broken in Halo 3. People can't spam the BR at all. You still have to consider distance in Halo 3. Offhost BR battles more than 10 feet you have to lead like crazy and shoot the torse because of the terribly random bullet spread. AR spamming is what people do in this game, and it works.
BETA still represents numerous components of the game. They can't revamp the entire game after the BETA ended, that would take too long, so it still represents a lot of what the game will be. I never said I was going to buy. I still have no intention of buying it.
