I think what you are doing for the flood victims is great but please know that the red cross is probably not who should get the $$$. It has been my experience that they are not a very reputable organization. When I lived in Indiana there were several tornados that wiped out a few towns, the red cross came right in to help. they set up booths with coffee and donuts AND CHARGED EVERYONE FOR THEM. they "gave" my family blankets, clothes, shoes, and some food. After about 6 weeks we were just getting back on our feet WHEN WE RECIEVED A BILL for there sevices. THEY CHARGED US $1000 FOR 5 BLANKETS AND THREE CHANGES OF USED CLOTHES, AND AFEW DAYS WORTH OF M.R.E.s When asked about it they claim that noone should have expected it to be a handout, only a loan. When asked why they charged so much there response was that they had to spend alot to get it there and to have ppl handing it out. Now I see everyone donateing to them and I have to wonder how much per dollar will reach flood victims. I bet it is under 50 cents. And will there be a bill some have to pay later. Please check before you blindly trust the media's suggested "nonprofit" organization. You might just be shocked.
