I don't know what to do...Is there anyway I could get a new serial number? I still have the disc just not the number. Help please.

you got two options:
1) buy anther halo
2)search the places where you last had halo (backtracking always helps)

wrong
If you still have the Book, the cd case, The Proof of Purchase ((the bar code and its number on the box)) or the reciet from the store you bought it from. you can send them to Micersoft along with something like 5 bucks and they will provide you with a new one.

I may be wrong though.

Maybe it would be better to speak to a rep from Microsoft. Call up their game division and talk to someone...If he lost the serial he does not have the cd case.

Better to be sure than unsure - if I were a giant company and received a package with a cd and $5, I'd keep both.

If you have the game installed, I am pretty sure you can get your key back. I don't know how though.

put the CD into your disc drive and open My Computer. right click the icon for halo on the disc drive and click install. you should see either your product key or your ID number given to the disc. If it's the ID number, you can probably contact MS customer support and request a new copy of your CD key and serial number. Either way, write it down somewhere you won't lose it again...

I suggest putting it on a piece of labeling tape and sticking it onto your CD.

Just make sure the heat doesn't fry the label...it shouldn't, though. It's not like you're burning a CD or something.

No disrespect, but i wouldn't suggest that. Why?

If you know you're going to lose it and insist on "sticking" it somewhere, put it on your monitor or (if you don't want masking tape all over your PC) under the box of your PC. Remember, the harder you hide it, the harder you'll look before you find it.

Easy...if u still have it installed you have a unique product number or ID whatever...talk to a M$ rep as sexy said and workin it out with them...if not then just call and display some proof or the very very easy thing would be to just buy a new copy of Halo...it`s like 20$ at EBgames....and as for the new CDkey when u get it just buy a new case for the cd...like a DVD type case and tape the Key inside.

I found a slim jewel-case to use, and just left the original cardboard case with the CD key in the Halo box (which is in a safe place). Pulling off the CD key is just asking for it to get lost easier.
