The only reason I am asking is because I plan on flying out to Washington, D.C. for the last Dorito's Amateur Combine but I don't know if it's a good idea or not.
Go for it, but don't expect to be one of the better players there.

Oh I know that. I mean I think I am pretty good but I know there are a lot of people out there that play Halo 3. Plus it's a lot of money to fly there since I'm all the way down here in Texas. Just don't wanna spend too much money for nothing.
If it isn't too much bother for you money-wise, go for it. You definitely won't be one of the better players, but meeting some cool people who like to play Halo competitively(and possible getting a few of them on your FL) seems worth it to me.
