It was called a Clan list.

And it's technically possible in every game that uses XBox LIVE, which would be every game on the 360.

So again I ask, why the shutdown; especially considering that the original XBox games had more LIVE features than most games today? (Tom Clancy games and Halo 2 come to mind)

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

That's true, I play with random people on my friends list maybe once every couple months. With 200 friends I might do it twice every couple months! Totally worth it.
