Halo 2 for Life!

It ment you could find a good quality match at your level (level was based on time spent playing the game usually) so you could maximize your fun and enjoyment during the match.

When h2 first came out it was hard to even get past level 8 and 10 was like maximum, and I dont know why they changed it other then they wanted us to play more cheaters and have less fun playing matches in ranked games. I had more fun when I was a level six and that was a good rank compared to a level 34 and having every single match suck massively.

~Beauty of Simplicity~

I got to level 36 and felt pretty damn proud. At one point I was stuck at 25. Ah the good days of Halo 2...

Being "proud" of your level is what drove bungie to make ranking up easy in H2 (after the begging) and to make it extremely easy in H3. You can not think of rank like this instead rank is a way to find the best and fun game ever, rank itself means nothing.

When I say the begging I mean the first few months.

Saying your a 36 is meaningless (a cheater could be a level 50 in 1 day), what matters is did you have fun playing at that level, probably not. I had fun playing at a level were I was playing against players that have played the game about the same amount as me so I could have a realistic chance of winning and they also had a realistic chance of winning.
