Halo n3w8. FPS n3w8.
I propose a new theory for John's location to Bungie, in hopes that they use it for a new game series. It is extremely contrary to the popular "Marathon Universe" theory, and with increasingly supportive evidence. You see, I propose that, not only is the Master Chief in the original Halo universe, but also that he is indeed floating towards a Forerunner planet. You see, at the end of Halo 3, the frigate Forward Unto Dawn is heading into a Slipspace Portal. Allow me to explain how these things work: Any object heads into one end. As they pass through, they go into another universe WHERE THE LAWS OF PHYSICS ARE SEVERELY ALTERED FOR A TRAVELING ADVANTADGE. This crosses out the Marathon universe option, as in Marathon, everything clearly moves at a normal speed. The object then travels across the following space far faster than in the normal universe. The Slipspace Portal does not provide any motion on its own, but simply makes objects move faster for the same amount of energy released. It then comes out of THE OTHER PORTAL. This also removes the chance of a Marathon crossover. You see, there are two portals in Slipspace travel: a black hole created for entry and another after arriving where you want for exodus. Only the portal near the Ark collapsed, not the one on Earth, so if they made it thru the Ark's side into that Slipspace portal, how could they have been stranded? Also, if Mendicant Bias did change coordinates, how did the Arbiter make it to Earth? After all, Master Chief being in the Marathon universe would only be possible if the entire frigate remained intact. Therefore, I have purpose to believe that John is in space near the Ark. John is seen floating away in Halo 3, towards a planet. I have cogent reason to believe that that planet is a Forerunner world. If the Forerunners managed to save all of the life in the galaxy, why didn't they save themselves? They surely must have taken a precaution by shipping many of their species there. I believe that Didact and the Librarian's messages in the Terminals may simply have been personal, and not referring to an entire auto-genocide. Also, Mendicant Bias has very puzzling words in the Terminals about the Master Chief being his example and proof for his atonement to his makers. How else could anyone explain the glyphs on the planet, its vaguely (city) inhabited technological appearance, and, dare I say it, its similarity to the Forerunner planet in Halo: Legends Origins?
Edit: I would like people to speculate on this new theory, and perhaps form new ones of their own.
