Got sick of using my old Bungie.net username.

I purchased Halo PC a few months back... and have yet to actually play it.
I installed the game, ran that thing that finds and installs the latest patch. I start it up, it takes me to a black screen (sometimes it even shows the "Halo" splash screen)... then it just stops, and takes me back to my desktop.

I try again, and I get this;

I try "Safe Mode", and even that doesn't work.

I'm running Windows XP and my specs are way beyond the minimum (or hell, maybe even the recommended) requirements.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Thank you.

Can you fix the imageshack link, it's broken. I'd like to see what you're experiencing. Thanks.

Replace "-blam!-" with "f u c k" (minus the spaces) and the link should work.

If you haven't already, try clicking "continue Anyway."

My guess is that you need to enable your graphics card's drivers correctly. Therefore you either need to update your graphics drivers or you might currently have the wrong drivers installed.

Your computer manufacture's website might have the latest drivers to download. If not, you could go to your graphics card manufaturer's website and download the latest drivers there.

Otherwise I'm not really sure what could be causing the problem.

Sapphire just got even more awesome.

Maybe if I could see that link, lol. (And, yes, I tried a variety of cuss words)

Well, I got it to work (I was blown away when all I had to do was update my drivers...)

But now I keep getting Exception! errors while playing. And I have the latest patch.

Yeah, exception errors are an issue with Halo: Combat Evolved PC.

When I got exception errors in the past I just uninstalled and reinstalled Halo.

Now that you have the correct drivers installed try uninstalling and reinstalling and maybe that'll stop the errors.
