no, you won't, unless your partner is in the negative exp range as well.

plus, negative exp won't help your playing skill.

Yes you'll get banned (I've seen it happen after around 20 games so 300's a definite ban) and no it won't help you rank up faster/get to 50.

No you won't. Trust me, I've levelled a lot of accounts to 50. Quitting out does absolutely nothing, the only effect it has is that it won't show the game on your service record in lobby.

You will get banned after at least 25 games of quitting, and it's written in the rules that Jumbus posted, habitual quitting gets you banned.

  • 08.10.2010 5:29 AM PDT

It's pretty hard to get banned from matchmaking.

However, quitting 300 games consecutively would probably fulfill a portion the automated banhammer criteria and lead to a ban.

Probably a brief one, though.

I would like to be a Mythic Member, or a mod.

REALLY BAD. I believe I deserve it, I am very loyal to the dear Bungie forums and want to keep everything in tip-top shape. Its always a real pleasure to be on the forums and I want to be recognized here.

You'll light up like a christmas tree

There is no rule that says you can't, but quitting games is detrimental to gameplay for other people's enjoyment, and if you quit too much, you'll be considered a large annoyance to players, so much that Bungie takes action and bans you. It is also a precaution to make sure you don't cheat the system, like you would be doing if you followed the steps in your other thread.[/quote]

I dont know wether to agree or disagree it seems good and bad on both sides...

EXP has nothing to do with ranking up. You notice how you're the only one saying this? Its because its not true, just listen to what we're trying to tell you

I don't see why not. I mean with Reach coming so soon I could care less about my experience.

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Bad Guy, this is Gun.

i`ve got -396 EXP and i haven`t been banned

exp shows how much you've won/loss. So lower the exp the more loses the more loses the worse you are. Bungie has this thing when you absolutely suck the ranking system will try to benefit you more by ranking you up quicker and helping you.

  • 08.10.2010 7:22 AM PDT

LOL NO. Please just listen. Playlist exp may give you an indication of the persons win loss record in that playlist. For example if someone has a 33 playlist general then you know that they have a bad record in that playlist most likely. But quitting out of games in that playlist would lower that persons playlist exp thus making that method more inaccurate.

TOTAL EXP HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RANKING UP.

When you have more losses its easier for people to rank up while PLAYING WITH YOU, it doesnt make it easier for you to rank up at all.

Well now that I know you're not being serious then I wont bother trying to explain/help you. If you dont want to listen to everyone else in the thread, including me thats fine, keep chasing that 50 you shouldnt care this much about

So what you're saying, is that if you are terrible at the game, Bungie wants you to rank up to get matched with better players?

  • 08.10.2010 7:39 AM PDT

I'm out.

I mean, it's possible to not get banned, but from the looks of your recent games you like to quit out in doubles. That's going to get you banned pretty fast.

I work for the Department of Defense.

You're not looking for a forum moderator. Why would they know? They moderate a forum for halo. They don't get trained, have access to, or know the inner-workings of how the ban hammer works outside of bungie.net. You're looking for an actual Bungie employee. Who, in my opinion, shouldn't have to waste their time to answer a question from a quitter.

There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

SCFH

Why the hell do you wanna get rid of your EXP in the first place? Isn't the point of Matchmaking to GAIN EXP?

No it won't help you get to a 50 faster. WHo needs a 50 anyway? Reach is out in a month

By the time your ban would of been over you could of had 2 50's anyway.

The exp that you earn is a visual representation of your wins. After every game you play you mu and sig are adjusted accordingly and that is what effects your rank.

In other words, even if you lose a ton exp, the ranking system doesn't view you as a new player like many people have come to believe.

I know negative experience "boosters" who have a hard time leveling past 40, they can get "rank locked" too.

Yes, it's a bannable offense. It isn't directly written down, but its considered cheating the system, along with being detrimental to other's gameplay.

Would you like it if someone quit out of your game? It isn't fun when your down a player.
