I don't like Orbital at all. You can barely jump outa the way of Rockets or Grenades. In the description it says 4-12 players on this map. Contruct is bigger, and yet it is 2-8 players. If you are driving the Ghost on Orbital, you're basically begging to get hijacked or grenaded.

No, not at all. It is an absolutely terrible Slayer map and has some of the worst spawns of any Halo map ever. The only thing it's half-decent for is CTF, but otherwise it's disgustingly bad.

!

No. It's horrible. The worst map in the game.

Aside from Chiron TL-34 (H:CE map with bajillions of teleporters), it's the worst map in any of the Halo games, and if it were to die in a fire I would have no regrets.

Almost this.

I think default Epitaph is slightly worse.

Ooh, I love those people, the ones who decide to throw everything and the kitchen sink at you, as if an M16 does anything to a T-90. Oh, MLG player with noobtube instead? Congrats! You blew off one of my ablative plates!

Because I always have awesome games on Orbital. It is a fun map to me.

And no, it doesn't play like you typically think it does.

It's an ok map for CTF games..but i don't like it for slayer games.

A fun map to play on doesn't always make a good map. A map playing well makes a good map. You're in Atlas, I'm sure you of all people would know that.

Orbital results in people charging to rockets from their spawn or charging to sniper, as there really is nothing else to do. The close proximity of the corridors means you always know where the enemies are, and the cluttered boxes in the hallways mean grenade spam as well as camping with maulers and rgegens/bubble shields is very common. The spawns are terrible, enemies can easily get stupid sandwich spawns on you or spawn right behind you after you killed them. It really does play like this.

I love Orbital for 2 Flag Shotties, Fiesta and one sided bomb. and not being able to avoid rockets or grenades is your own problem, i've never had a problem with it.

i killed the enemy down close to sniper spawn and they instantly spawned at rocket spawn and jumped off to attempt to kill me

the spawns are messed up in most of the maps, it pains me to say it but the maps with the best spawns are the mlg maps.

despite me and my freinds annoying antics in MLG we never get bad spawns.

It isn't the type of map I'd make, no. I go for way more intricate and original designs. But the games I have on that map are 99% of the time extremely fun. Remember what the OP is about, they ask "Do you like Orbital", not "Is Orbital a good map?"

Not for me, usually.

When I play, I usually rush Sniper with a Mauler and Bubble (if I spawn on bottom) and then I proceed to go to the back of bottom base and provide support for my teammates as they take the room near the bridge. Anyone coming down the hallway gets their head popped off and I provide support fire against any enemies advancing on the bridge. It is a really fun tactic and as long as my teammates have control of our Spiker-room and the bridge-room, the spawns are fine.

I'd much prefer static spawns on Orbital, simply because as you said spawns on Orbital can get kind of wack. Mainly because enemies can spawn in between my team in the Spiker Room and I spawn kill them with the Sniper or Battle Rifle.

But overall it isn't a bad map. Not when I play it. When I think of a bad map, I think of Isolation or Assembly. Not really do I think of Orbital. Of course, I can agree that there are things that could make it a bit better, like increasing the equipment spawn time to 120 sec, and fixing spawns and such.

This is why most of the atlas maps are completely nonsensical.

The only map even remotely similar to design of Orbital was added for reasons beyond me. Pretty much every other map was built by really experienced Forgers who know what makes a good map and what makes a balanced map.

What's so bad about Assembly and Isolation compared to Orbital?
Assembly is way too cramped for my tastes. The bases are fine and the layout and everything is fine, it is just too cramped and full of clutter.

And Isolation's bases are like right next to each other. But ultimately, those are just my opinions, and I would never design maps like those 2. Nor would I design a map like Orbital.

And there could just be the simple reason as: I simply don't like them, and I simply like Orbital.
