Subject: I got console banned!! Why?

Today randomly during a game a thing comes up saying I'm banned for a week. OK, and then all of the sudden after the game it says I have a month long console ban!! Why, ive never boosted or anything. If this ban stays I wont be able to play halo 3 until reach comes out. Please Help me Bungie!

Seriously? I was hoping to get a good amount of games in before Reach comes out. This is not something we should just let happen, It seems to be happening to a lot of people and Bungie needs to see that it's happening so they can fix it.

Bungie sadly doesn't give a rat's ass about the community. They ban people for the stupidest things, and feel like they're actually helping.

Hopefully that won't be true in this situation.

1. This doesn't have ANYTHING to do with Reach.

This is the Halo 3 Forum, Lol.

You obviously did something to warrant a ban.

I'm guessing it was nothing serious, like host booting or DDoS'ing your opponents, because the Banhammer is notoriously ineffective at actually punishing those people who deserve it.

You probably did something pretty innocuous, like quitting out of too many games, triggering a suicide penalty auto-ban, deranking, being idle, or boosting in any number of manners, either intentionally or unintentionally.

You'll get over it.

Bip. Bap. Bam. Welcome to Reach.

12egicide, Bungie does care about our community, they're one of the few developers who listen to what their community wants.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

Did anything get auto-deleted out of your file share? Been seeing a lot of people banned lately over modded pictures in their share, and getting the month long MM ban because they changed the name or description of the file

That's the thing, Ive actually never done of this. On my old account I boosted achievements in lone wolves, but in this account I wanted everything to be 100% legit. Hence why I don't have all of the lone wolves achievements yet.

2. I believe that you can appeal such a ban, but you may have to go to MicroSoft.

Not to flame or anything but when he said something involving Reach it had a legit reason.

1.Once Reach comes out Halo 3 wont be played as many people considering they moved to Reach.

2.He is trying to enjoy the last moments of Halo 3 before the true potential has been worn out.

3. Bungie reallllllly needs to do something about their random bans.

4. The main topic is on Halo 3 multiplayer.

I agree with 12egicide, I doubt they even care that they're banning possible innocents. They don't listen, they put on Grifball like every other week despite people telling them they want variety. They ignore the threads telling of aim bots and flaming recon. Truth is they don't care. They're done with Halo 3 and are moving on to Reach.

Your post confuses me. Are you saying he was right or wrong because you changed his post and then disagreed. Sorry it confuses my simple mind.

If the only reply I can come up with will get me banned, I'm lurking. Its not irregular.

*To all people messaging me about groups*
Groups are just not my thing. I usually am just a member and neglect the group, and then the leader kicks/gets mad at me sorry

Yes I do. Its a problem that bungie needs to fix!

  • 08.11.2010 2:59 PM PDT

looks like the banhammer is pulling a GLaDOS lol
I've been worried about getting banned ever since i got like 10 fake betrayals by a couple cheaters.(proof in my fileshare) So i simply stopped playing halo PERIOD. Can't ban me if i'm not online (can they?)

Doubt bungie will fix it, theyre more worried about you buying reach. Makes me wonder if there's a conspiracy afoot....

This doesnt make sense- you stop playing the game to avoid getting banned [essentially you banned yourself, with the outcome being not playing the game either way]

also you would never get banned for something that insignificance in the first place, maybe if this happened 50x you would be on the radar...

dont fret,play nice
