One problem. In the Announce Trailer, the ship MC is on is bigger than a Longsword Bomber. He would have had to get on a different ship. Unless something happened in First Strike where he got on a different ship, he would have to first get on another ship.

Besides that nitpick, I really like your idea.

If you guys noticed the ship mc leaps out of is a ghost ship there is no signs of life on it at all. Im sure there is a reason for that well just have to wait and see.

I noticed that as well. I think I compensated for it somehow in my original post.

i think it will start....

Upon returning from deep space, after destroying the weapon known as Halo during a conflict with the Convenant, you, the Master Chief and your trusty AI guidance system Cortana, find yourself in front row seats to the end of Earth. Covenant Armada Battleships attack at the Earth mercilessly in hopes of destroying your very world. Seeing the imminent danger, you jump into action. Literally.

Level 01

Spotting the attack on Earth you drop from your ship in space, propelling yourself downward towards a gigantic Covenant Armada Battleship. You grasp onto the edges of the ship and find your way into a ventilation shaft and then a shadowy corridor.

Once inside the craft you make your way through the all-too-familiar corridors and meet up with Covenant Troops (Elites, Hunters, Grunts, Jackals, Brutes). You battle deep into the belly of the craft, via Cortana who advises that Marine prisoners are aboard. Once you find your way to the prison block the Marines tell you that several of their vehicles have been confiscated and are in a rear cargo hold. You and the Marines make your way there, taking out Covenant Troops on the way. You locate the vehicles, several Warthogs and Panthers, the new ATVs, in a cargo cell on the nearest side of a huge docking bay, which is holding their ship, the Purge. There you charge out of the cargo cell and battle several large bands of Covenant Troops throughout. The Marines have told you that there is important information on the ship, but you are unable to get to it in time. During the battle the Covenant see your plans to steal back the Purge and they release it out of the bay, pushing it down toward their target on Earth, New Mombasa, a major protectorate located in East Africa. When you're finished mopping up the Covenant Troops, Cortana tells you and any remaining Marines to head to a front docking bay where a Covenant Battalion is waiting to board a drop ship headed toward Earth.

Once you arrive there you see you are largely outnumbered and Cortana suggests sneaking aboard the ship, and making themselves known only after landing.

Hey, you're just a phony! Hey everyone, it's a big fat phony!

I'm relatively new to the forum, so I haven't ever seen that before. It's a good idea none the less, so kudos to the original poster.

And to Krash, calm down, we all know what they meant. Go to your happy place.

Master Chief will be thumming through a hustler, and then will suddenly realize the camera is on him. He will quickly throw away the magazine, take out his AR, and accidentally jump to his own demise.

"Master Chief will be thumming through a hustler, and then will suddenly realize the camera is on him. He will quickly throw away the magazine, take out his AR, and accidentally jump to his own demise." ROFLOL

anyway, i think that the start will have bits from the book "first strike" like any key bits from it. next it will have mabey a tarining mission on the ship u see at the start of the tailer, it could be in ruins so that would make a alright training level, think jump over this fallan pipe, duck under this and shoot that to move and so on. then it will featue a scene like the one from the first trailer, with him jumping out and heading towards the covie battleship. mabey the "first level" (training dosent ocunt to me as a level ;) ) like someone mentioned will take place onbord this ship? with you escaping to earth :)

and a final thing, did i hear correct that some levels take place in low gravity? liek a "out side" bit in space? that would be coool, especaily multiplayer...

I think I read in some cover story about Halo 2 (in EGM) that the low gravity bit was going to be on a moon, on the way to a Covenant moon base. Bungie mentioned it in the interview.

Well I figure it will open like this, you have a case with two sides, you pull one side away from the other. Also there will more than likely be a small clear seal around the case you will have to get through. All in all unless you have the Limited Edition it should open like most other XBox games. Hope I could be of some help.

Halo 2 opens where Halo left off

Oh, how I will enjoy playing those parts of FS out... But taking care of the people that survived Halo would be a pain, since just escorting Keyes was a big enough PIa, this is the same way but with a lot more people...

People, I'll say it again:

WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER THREE SPARTANS THAT WERE WITH HIM AT THE END OF FIRST STRIKE?

-"Maybe we can pick up chicks in a tank, probably two or three a piece!"
-"Tucker what are you gonna do with two chicks man?"
-"Church....women are like Voltron the more you hook up the better it gets."

-"Of course he's seen him! You think that Mr. Caboose would miss something like that you skeezy-blam!--blam!-!"
-"Wait...Who the hell are you?"
-"My name is: Church Buttwiping Assmunch."

Clearly for those of the people that didn't read the books the second game might not make perfect sense. So in order for the game to really make since they would need to go back to the time period around the end of Halo 1. But the fact that you'd need to transport people around would be lame...and Bungie isn't lame, so they wouldn't do that to us. Now what they would more than likely do is have us play through a few key parts of First Strike while fleshing out the story for those gamers that avoided reading the books for whatever the reason. And that would be at least 2 levels but no more than 3. Now to prove the fact that they won't just throw you into the game straight out of the gate is simple. Everyone knows by now...at least from word of mouth from those that read the books that there were 3 other SPARTANS alive at the end of First Strike(excluding Kelly, we don't know where she is). So if you remember from the trailer where MC jumps from the ship into space that there were no other people on the ship...and the ship looked far better than the Gettysburg sounded in First Strike. That's alsl excluding the fact that at the end of Fisrt Strike Cortona said the ETA to Earth was 35 hours...now try and tell me that A LOT can't happen in 35 hours. And if you try I'll call you a liar. So it's clear that they can't shove you directly into fighting on Earth that would be silly on their part. They have to at least explain the exsistance of the other SPARTANS and the Kelly situation(if that comes into the story at all, which it should because I'm hella curious). How would those of you that didn't read First Strike feel if you started the game with 3 other SPARTANS with you and no explaination as to where they came form and why they're still alive(other than happy/suprised that you had other SPARTANS on you team)?? Now think where Halo 2 will start off...Earth isn't really a sound start for those of you that missed out on the awesome read that is First Strike.

They could talk about it briefly in the instruction manual, like they did with Halo. It briefly mentioned that Reach, the training facility for the Spartan II project, was attacked and destroyed by Covenant, and MC escaped on the Pillar of Autumn. Then, Bungie officially licensed an author to make an entire book out of the Reach backstory. It might just be backwards this time around, with First Strike coming first and the instruction manual summarizing the main events of it.

Heres the stuff...most of you havent read FS and its obvious cuz people are saying "Oh it comes back in the ruins of Halo in a lonsword figher" nu-uh...scratch that. FS took master cheif around the galaxy before he ever made it to Earth. Anyways, my theory is that the Master Cheif is leaping out of the Gettysburg (The ship they ended FS with with MC on it) and whoeveer made that comment about it looking too undamaged, remember they made repairs at that asteroid with those rebels. back to my story, Bungie will probably find some way to fill-in everyone on the story, if its a movie, or a flashback, what ever, they will have to do it.

No, the ship he was on was too big, the airlock was almost as big as the longsword.

2 things:
1) why the hell would covenant take -blam!-y marine prisoners? even western armies wouldn't do that. the covenant do not take prisoners. NOT AT ALL. they charge in, they kill. done.

2) why would the covenant have confiscate some atvs and warthogs? To research them and make them? when they have shadows and hovering ghosts? hmmmm....

I think it will be an awesome intro. And i think they should do a good job with it, i mean it is going to set the tone for the whole movie.

IT'S A GAME NOT A F****** MOVIE!!!

"Fight for peace, make love not war, unless you love to kill!"
-Four Postmen

A lot of people loved Halo1 without knowing the back story, all there was was that overview in the manual. I think they could do the same with all that happened in First Strike, the end result was that the MC was headed to Earth on the Gettysburg and with three Spartan buddies (Not to mention Kelly who is with Halsey). I have faith that whatever Bungie does, will work and be loved by those who have read the books and those who haven't. I think playing what happened in First Strike would be difficult... First Strike actually happened before Halo1 because of the time warping crystal, plus, no one playing would know who the rebels were and how they related to the Master Chief. It might actually create more confusion.

one, they took prisoners of captain keyes and some marines and two, they might want to make something with wheels. That is probaly why they confiscated the atvs or whatever you were talking about.
