I like Halo. Since you are reading this, you probably do too.

Every time I've been booted (not a lot mind you--check my stats if you like) for an accidental betrayal I've felt like it was rather egotistical of the other guy to do so. I mean, I'm playing as a good teammate, sometimes I even have most of the kills, we are winning by a rather good margin and there goes a stray sticky and I'm out.

So my question is, do you guys just automatically boot when the option comes up or do you think about the context first? I always think about the context and I've only booted someone a few times out of the many options. I thought most people would be like me, but my experience has been the opposite.

Your thoughts?

If I see them shooting on purpose I will boot them but not then I won't.

Who'd win, a Spartan, or a Space Marine?

I always boot for betrayals because almost all of the boots go to some butthurt teammate who lost their sword because they jumped in front of my ghost as I was splattering someone.

In snipers I accidentally sniped two of my teammates in a row attempting to get one guy. They laughed it off thank god.

yeah usually people on matchmaking tend to just boot without thinking it through. I had 26 out of the 50 needed, and my teamate ran into my stick grenade on the ground, Without hessitating he booted me, he also only had 3 kills. The system isnt the best, but it works most of the time

I don't betray my teammates because i have common sense and don't throw nades in their proximity.

It depends, when I play a game of CTF, my own team-mates who I trusted and learned to love,ALWAYS betray me. As soon as I am within a few centimeters of capturing the flag, I get BR'ed and beat down just so some dillpickle can steal my point. That WOULD BE A REASON TO BOOT right?

But if it is a game of team slayer or social big team, something like that, I kinda think about it and see if it was accidental or the guy was being an ass. I usually forgive, it always sucks to lose a team-mate

If I can tell that someone betrayed me accidentally, I never boot them.

  • 08.12.2010 11:30 PM PDT

if its on purpose or done alot, there gone. but i dont usually boot. also, before i boot i check to see if they have any guests.

  • 08.12.2010 11:38 PM PDT

I always boot in Social, I get to see more action with less teammates.

Ranked, no.

Times forumbanned for nothing: 4x

Was playing swat yesterday..was the team carrier.. I was in battle with their team carries(who was better than me) then a team mate runs in front of me trying to kill him, I accidently kill him and then.. HE BOOTS ME, how stupid is that?!!

they lost...

Don't throw random grenades, if your team is communicating you should know where to throw them, plus they are not going to get the option to boot if you haven't betrayed in a while. If your making consistently bad plays and killing your team then yes.

I love betraying on purpose to get people get mad and betray me. Then I boot them, I love the system. Accidental betrayals = Boot Option. Betrayals on purpose = Not boot until second betrayal.

I got booted in SWAT today because some retard jumped infront of my sticky.
When I get the chance to boot someone(which is rarely) I think about it because if they have the most kills i'll keep them so we win also if i'm playing BTB I look if they have guests or not because if they have guests i'll lose more than one player.

I rarely boot people for betrayals. The only time I do is if they're being idiots and intentionally trying to teamkill or ruin the game for us.

Most other times, I'll just shrug it off and forgive, unless they do it again. If that happens, I'll take their kills, usefulness, and a couple other factors into consideration before I decide what to do.

If it happens again though, regardless of who they are, they're gone.

I will look over the situation and question the shooter if he/she has a mic and if I don't get a good response or I realise it was on accident then I will determine to boot the player or not.

Command__ The Undead
Control_____The Undead
Lead______ The Undead
Be________ The Undead
Meet The___ Undead_assassin

this is really annoying about booting... for example... i got the sword before everyone else did, and some guy betrayed me because of it, i didnt get the option to, so i killed him back for it, then HE gets the option to boot me and i get booted ¬_¬

The only map I get booted for betrayals on is Rat's Nest as I strategically place mines, and I'm pretty sure my teammates run into them on purpose.

  • 08.13.2010 10:14 AM PDT

I almost never boot. only when I get betrayed by one who does it on purpose. or if he is just very annoying (stealing kill on the last second/ not kill a certain someone (like boosting)/ betraying other teammembers/ etc)

I myself have been booted a few time by accident. I stuck the enemy, which walked towards an teammate and thus giving me an betrayal. or once an friend came over who was new to Halo and teamkilled on purpose/accident (he thought he had to kill the red guys instead of the blues, and we were red)

I wish most people would do that..

I was playing a SWAT game, and we were winning by a very large margin.. When I accidentally betrayed one of my teammates who, in turn, booted me even though I had more than 3/4 of the teams kills.. Me being curious, I looked at that players service record to see what the outcome of that game was.. They ended up losing by 15 kills because the guy booted me..

I can understand booting if the person is chasing you around the map trying to kill you, but it they boot you because they jumped in front of your shot.. I just don't agree with that..

OP - You're a dumbass with the reading comprehension skills of a second grader.

Can someone tell me what's wrong with these two, this made me LOL hard.

I always blame Shishka.

And yes, one betrayal for me is an automatic boot. Just look at all the penalties on my exp. Over 95% of those have been from accidental betrayals. If only Shishka didn't make Grifball betrayals count.
