For the last couple of months I have been unable to play on the majority of the map packs provided by bungie. I have the odst multiplayer disc which should have them all on. As well as this I have downloaded all but mythic map pack 2. The disc runs fine but the maps are just not there. I thought I fixed it when I deleted the file that installs halo 3 to the xbox, which worked but the following day I was back to the same problem. Any advice or help would be nice to get my maps back please.

You're like, the bee's knees: you have helped me out a LOT in the past and you're a genuinely nice guy, and you deserve all the best for the good you've done me and surely done others
Count Peter, you're one of the only people I respect on here. Not that that means much on a forum, but still.

But seriously, yeah I have no idea what is going on. Only thing I can reccomend is to google it, or see if Halopedia has something about problems with the disc

I also maintain that Chrome is weaksauce, and IE9 is fast and works very well

Try removing the map packs that you have downloaded to the hard drive and just use the ODST multiplayer disk. I don't see how you're having problems when you are using the multiplayer disk though.

There was a problem with loading the map packs if you are using the Halo 3 disk that could be related. It was caused by having too much custom content (saved films, screenshots, map variants etc.) and was simply fixed by deleting some of that content. So, it might pay to try that - delete some custom content.

How many custom maps do you have?

If HEAPS try removing a few and see if the odst map packs show up. There is a cap, cant remember what it is but a search may help.
