"You have the brain of a 5-year old boy, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it."

I can't remember where I read it, but can anybody confirm that in campaign mode you will be able to take different paths through the story. Halo was pretty linear, if you could mix things up a bit it would make the campaign mode super sweet.

Im also not sure where but I know it was confirmed, but I don't think it meant multiple levelsm just multiple ways to go in a level, so you need to make the dicision of which way to go. And they can end in different results.

I hope not, that ruins the discussions, like "on level 5...." "wait, which version?" It is also really pointless

i hate it when people say that, its just more realistic, and the SP replay value will be way higher than Halo: CE on that game all you had to do was either go towards the enemy or go through open doorways. Its not pointless in any way.

"You have the brain of a 5-year old boy, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it."

Exactly.

The replay value would be huge.

How is it pointless!!??? It adds replay value and variety to SP so you dont only go one way which is boring after 2 times to most people. Like I said in Halo: CE all you had to do was follow enemy or go through open doorways which was really easy and after you play a few times it gets boring. And its also not realistic thay everywhere onHalo only had 1 trail going through it all, or on the inside part of AOTCR there is only 1 door open (the one that leads to where you need to go)

Also, what's more fun. Being able to talk about the game, or playing the game. I could care less if nobody knows what I'm talking about, I just want to play Halo 2 again, and again, and again.........and again.

Halo was pretty linear

It wasn't really that linear. On AOTCR for example you could if you wanted take a Scorpion, Ghost, Warthog or walk. Each choice has its own like experience. Tank just blasts through while the Ghost just bombs past everybody etc.

Thats stupid, you are still in the same place, it was linear, your just a nerd if you have fun using a tank, then the next time a ghost, then the next time a hog', and , "Hey look, I took out a Wraith with a pistol!!!" Now even people that arnt nerds will like the replay value.

Yes, I believe that it has been stated that you will be able to take multiple paths, but it always has the same ending.

Yeah the same ending but there might be more casualties a certain way or you might get to an objective an easier way if you picked right.

That's what I thought. Maybe by taking different paths you would see different cinematics, or maybe even see tough to find ones, but the end of each level/game would have to be the same.

I'm with you.

I hope that there would be different paths that each had a different amount of each type of covie/flood/marines/whatever but in the end, they all lead to the same final destination.

if it is non linear in the way we are discussing/arguing(some of you, you know who you are) then I think it should be maybe just slight variations on levels, (like a huge, vehicular section, or an intense onfoot, sneaky section) And the level must end and start in the same way no matter what, if it ends differently then that -blam!-s up the plot, and just adds different levels, which, only weirdo's want

I agree. Just like in the second level Halo, you have to rescue (or kill off) the three escape pods. It doesnt matter what order you do them in, but you can end the level in any of the three, giving you three separate ending Pelican scenes.

It would almost be an on-foot FPS version of PD: Orta (that was a great game don't get me wrong) and we don't really need that i didn't mind going on strait path in halo it was fun none the less.

Yes, ill go over it 1 more time. There will be different paths with more/less deaths and cinimatics, more, less and different kinds of enemy, shorter or longer paths do destination. And the last one lets say, you are going to get into a building where special forruner technology is but there may be flood or covies in there and you have to fight your way to it. path 1 might be the shortest way but it might be more guarded and you will infiltrate the back of the building. Path 2: It might take a long time but there is very light resistance and you will get to the building from an underground subway. Etc.

"You have the brain of a 5-year old boy, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it."

There are so many possiblities that could come of this? Unlockables for time to complete a level, hardest path chosen etc,, Maybe covie AI would change (slightly) based on your decisions.
