I've had Halo for Xbox for a while now. I've beaten it on every setting and have a LAN party every weekend. But, recently my friend bought Doom 3 for PC, and since he knew that it would take up all of his PC-related time, he gave Halo PC to me. Now, I play Halo PC on a regular basis and have concluded the following statements:

1. Halo PC's graphics are not nearly up to Xbox standards. Not bad enough to affect how I view the quality of the game, but noticably different. ((with the exception of shield effects. These ARE horrible on PC.))

2. Halo PC's multiplayer rocks. Using Banshees in multiplayer is a BIG deal to me, as it's my favorite vehicle. Turrets is a nice addition as well.

3. Halo Xbox's controler beats the keyboard anyday. All of the Xbox's buttons are immediatly at your disposal, while you have to move your hands off certain buttons ((namely Tab and d for the PC)) to do important tasks like entering Vehicles, reloading, ETC.

4. Lag SUCKS! My computer lags so bad I often find myself being booted from Halo's online games for this problem.

5. Mods for Halo PC are easier to get and legal-er to use. ((so legal-er's not a word. Use the legal system and sue me then.))

6. Halo Xbox has better sound. I found that during firefights in Halo PC some of the sounds of the weapons will dissapear, replaced with dull "thump" sounds. Now I know that sound isn't everything, but I enjoy grunt screams in the full.

7. You tell me. Please vote in the poll and add your thoughts below.

Personally, I'd have to go with Xbox, becuase I'm a sucker for good graphics and it is the origional.

actually i take mouse and keyboard over xbox controller....i really dont like the starting controls so i change them...that way i barely have to move my fingers instead of on xbox u have to move ur thumb completely off the joystick...admittedly the graphics do suck, but even w/ out CE the multiplayer totally makes up for that, w/ a lot 2 spare...by the way i was gone for awhile, and when i got back there was all this talk bout halo ce, and i didnt even noe what it was....now i have it but only since yesterday...ummmmm just when did it come out exactly?

1)Halo PC's graphics are not as good as the XBOX!! LOL You obviously dont know about grapics cards for the pc. Unfortunatly unless you have a good performing graphics card with at least 8 data pipes Halo PC wont look that great(trust me I know from experience).

2)Halo PC's multi player experience is only as good as the players that play it.
meaning when you have a bunch of as-sholes or even one it ruins the experience.
Lack of a Vote kicking feature like what UT 2K4 allows alot more as-sholes to play.

3)Guess what if you have to move your hand out of position to reload or enter a vechile
or use Tab button you have no business playing a PC FPS. Get used to the keyboard
it is not that hard, you are prefering the XBOX controller for the wrong reason, WHY you may wonder forsaking the key and mouse with out giving it enough of a chance isn't fair
to you!

4)Guess What! even T1 connections still lag!!! When they ported Halo to PC they could not give enough balance between speeds because there is something from 56k-T1 damn lot of different connection speeds!!! That has alot to do with lag.

5)........mods I hate them.........oooo you killed me with one shot with from your spoon
(note i am being sarcastic no shuch as a spoon in Halo)

6)Yet again Halo has better sound on XBOX!!! this all depends on your sound card!!!!
Common sence here folks!!!!

if you were a sucker for good graphics you would buy a good graphics card duh!!!

Halo PC's graphics were lessened to be ported to the PC. It doesn't mayyer what graphics card you have, there will always be that little amount of difference.

I'm sorry I just had to post here...

First off, I heard that the graphics were actually enhanced, not lessened.
Secondly, since hearsay sucks, I also played the Xbox version, as well as PC, and I'm liking the PC version way more. (ATI Radeon 9700 Pro, btw)
I get 50-60fps at 800x600 res, all settings high, all effects on, (even specular, ooooo....)

Also, I just hate those Xbox controllers. I've never seen someone, with an Xbox controller, jump in the air while switching weapons, spin 180, and snipe a person 50 yards behind him before he lands.

Well, I am a fan of both CE and X-Box, they all have advantages and disadvantages

Not for everyone, if you get a good graphics card, (as most high-in PC gamers do) then the graphics are basically the same for PC, just allowing you to play on higher resolutions than x-box.

2. Halo PC's multiplayer rocks. Using Banshees in multiplayer is a BIG deal to me, as it's my favorite vehicle. Turrets is a nice addition as well.

One of the advantages to PC and CE, new stuff.

3. Halo Xbox's controler beats the keyboard anyday. All of the Xbox's buttons are immediatly at your disposal, while you have to move your hands off certain buttons ((namely Tab and d for the PC)) to do important tasks like entering Vehicles, reloading, ETC.

A lot of people find it easier to aim with the mouse. But this is all opinion....

4. Lag SUCKS! My computer lags so bad I often find myself being booted from Halo's online games for this problem.

Maybe your the one who is lagging, if your getting booted. I actually haven't encountered too much lag. Yes, now and then I get some, but it is not that big of a deal.

5. Mods for Halo PC are easier to get and legal-er to use. ((so legal-er's not a word. Use the legal system and sue me then.))

Yeah, and you should try CE if you don't have it yet

6. Halo Xbox has better sound. I found that during firefights in Halo PC some of the sounds of the weapons will dissapear, replaced with dull "thump" sounds. Now I know that sound isn't everything, but I enjoy grunt screams in the full.

Ummmm, the sound is the same in both.....

Personally, I'd have to go with Xbox, becuase I'm a sucker for good graphics and it is the origional.

I recommend a better graphics card.

There is a very fine line between not listening, and not caring.

Bow Chicka Bow Wow!

i think it is a tie. i like halo xbox because it has better graphics sound and there is no lag. i like halo pc because the multiplayer is so much better. i like the more players and u dont have to worrie about other players lookin off ur screen to see where u r. i also like the new wepons veicles and maps. they r all very fun. so i think halo for pc and xbox r about the same.

Okay. Is anyone hearing this...

Halo PC and Halo Xbox have the same graphics!!!

Go ahead. Try it. Look at Xbox, then PC, (yes, on all HIGH quality settings at 1024x768)

Same damn thing.

And sound? That messed up sound issue sounds like a sound card issue to me. Get a good card, new drivers, and good speakers.

first of all in order to have good graphics on computer you need a good graphics card. I have a 9600 xt which totally kicks xbox graphics ass. if you were to compare with a x800xt with a xbox in graphics. im sure you would see a difference.

i like pc better because you can play with ppl around the world online and you dont have to pay for it, unlike fricken xbox live. and lag, well.... GET USED TO IT! dont go into rooms with more than 300 ping, and be equiped with a good video card, and cpu, and... well basically a good computer and you shouldn't lag too much. maybe a bit. but other than that i love Halo pc. actually i play halo ce which is alot better!!! tons of new maps!!! go get it!!!

Yeah... on PC you can chat, like, "There's a sniper next to our base! We need some people to take him out! Volunteers?" That's usefull.

i have halo pc and i've played halo xbox....i only choose pc because of the multiplayer experience. but halo xbox does have way better graphics but then again it all comes down to ur vid card. if u don't like the controlls just get a usb adapter for xbox controller and the drives needed for it and its all dandy. the only problem is that its really sensitive. i've tried to bring it down but it didn't do much.
