i wonder why the developers made the sniper rifle a .50 cal. i think they need to make one of the guns in halo, like the new assault rifle as a sniper version. Post your opinion

You heard of the Battle Rifle that's already part of Halo 2?

When on its normal unscoped mode it fires burst rounds or full automatic (depends on how you pull the trigger, obviously) and when zoomed (something like 4x or 5x) it fires accurate one shots, just like a pistol.

Its happening, and it'll kick major ass

battle rifle+ sniper rifle will have you covered.

battle rifle unzoomed will be like having a good assault class weapon

battle rifle zoomed will be like having your lovable pistol with you

sniper rifle cover very long range

so you will be covered fully with that combo as i see it

The .50 Cal M82 sniper rifle is designed for anti-vehicle and "armor piercing" use, unlike the anit-personel M24 Sniper Weapons System.

I doubt you could do much to an elite in the future's armor with anything less than a .50.

This may also be why the SR doesn't hurt the flood at all -- it is designed to pierce, not spawl or fragment.
