At least everyone starts on the same level, and there is some kind of matching system in place. Look at CoD.. I'm a nub at that, and in my first game, I played a 10th Prestige 70 and a whole lot of other ranks above 1st Prestige. This is me going in on level one. They all have awesome guns and I have a UMP.
So, in theory, Halo 3 is far more accessible than CoD, for new players. Theoretically, the system is matching you with other new players. It just so happens that after 3 years, there aren't many new players playing Halo 3, and most low levels are second accounts.
You will be right, though, most are terrible.

But don't worry OP, when Reach comes out we'll all be on even grounds. The ranking system gets rid of the need for second accounts.
