Alright I dont know how much of that made scence but ive been playing Halo with the mythic disc offline without a hard drive. And when using weapons like the br, ar hornet etc the sounds are different. What does this have to do with? No tu1 or tu2?

I've noticed how the hard drive affects in-game sounds as well. I recently bought an Xbox Arcade console and I started playing Halo 3 via the mythic disc, with no memory-storing device installed except the little memory card that comes with it. Whenever I shot my gun, I noticed how different it sounded from when I played on my old Xbox. Then I installed my old hard drive into my new xbox, and the old familiar sounds had returned. I have no idea as to what causes the discrepancy in sounds, but it definitely exists.

It should also be noted that I was playing on XBL when I noticed this.
